Connections Academy schools are supported by Connections Education LLC, which is accredited by Cognia, formerly known as AdvancED
We love Connections Academy. After 9 years and 2 graduates, we appreciate the willingness of the teacher to help, the flexibility for our lifestyle and the high academic standards. Now it does depend on the parent to be proactive and coach the student. Both our graduates have close to full rides after their test score. I highly recommend trying MICA but remember you as a parent are a part of the learning process.

My son's have been attending Michigan Connections Academy for the last 5 years. My oldest son is graduating in June. My youngest son will graduate next June. Homeschooling is not for everyone. The work is harder for the parents and students. You have to stay on top of your kids assignments, so they don't end up with a ton of overdue assignments.
But I love that they can redo some of the assignments and try to get a better grade. They talk to their teachers once a week. There is so much more interaction from the teachers than they were getting from the public school. Teachers have stayed online past 4pm, helping my son before the semester ended with his assignments.
The school time is flexible. So if they have any kind of appointments you don't have to worry about making it for after school. I can take them in the morning before I go to work. They make their teachers aware and finish their assignments after the appointment.
The school offers great class's that prepare them for the future. My only regret is I didn't find this school sooner. So happy that we switched when we did.

I just moved my boys to this "public" school. One is Adhd and has an IEP. Which stipulates hrs to be spent one on one with him. They are trying to change a legal document and cut his time. In the teachers words. She doesn't had 8 hrs a day to spend with my child. This would have been fine had the enrollment team explained to me that this isn't really a "public"
school. I am infact the teacher."not coach " don't let their terminology fool you.If you are a working parent and think that as a public school all you do is , like a normal public school and check homework, think again. I was told by the enrollment team that it was a public school and they would be able to meet the needs of my son. Now I have pulled him from has old school and he has lost his seat.
Now I have had to contact an advocate. Hopefully someone with power will rectify this immediately. So my son can get the education he deserves.Along with any other special education student that chooses this school.
Will update.

Great field trips great teachers. Each year I have went I have received new books (to be sent back at end of year) The teachers have a general care. The students and parents rate the experience. There is calls to check in once every two weeks with the students and numbers for the teachers at other times. There are classes but they are optional. If a student learns enough with books then they don't have to go. The other students are generally nice. During the classes students can interact the same way they would in a normal classroom. They can re watch the class if they need to. If they miss a class it is recorded to. If you need extra help teachers give one on one tutoring when they have time and there is tutoring available from other students too.
