If anybody wants to pursue nursing, please, please, please, DO NOT GO HERE. Classroom sizes are extremely large. The professors tend to gossip amongst themselves about other students. Upon these types of actions, the professors email one professor (instead of the Dean) and the professors disciplines the class as a whole. What this means to you? The Dean is completely unaware of things that occur due to a communication defect amongst the staff. The professors have absolutely no control over the class. Also it is extremely hard to get in touch with anybody about anything related to financial aid, admissions, or anything school related. When they get in contact with you, it’s more of a why are you talking to me and I don’t feel like working, in the response. I get it can get overwhelming for the staff, but that should not reflect per customer service. Do not go here simply look for other options and please save yourself the stress. Good luck on your journey.
Trying to get in touch so I can enroll but it’s almost impossible. No answer and no email response. You can’t apply online either. I’ve sent quite a few emails. I even put my information in online again but didn’t receive any response
I cant imagine the amount of new admits they end up losing on behalf of financial aide office. Its impossible to get in touch, phone goes straight to a mailbox they never answer, no one respond to emails. Its been 3 weeks trying & will soon have to register for classes. It seem their only job is to send the automatic reminders, nothing else. I was pretty excited to start my journey with Hondros but this quickly turned into the most disappointing frustrating experiences. Why come to Detroit when yall wasnt ready nor organized & have competent ppl in office. Especially the financial aide office, the main 2 individuals need to be reassigned. Like asap. I have to take my tuition & money elsewhere. My nursing journey mean too much to be handled like this.

I am writing to formally express my concerns regarding my experience at Hondros College. I am someone who puts my entire effort into everything I do. I showed up prepared, studied consistently, asked questions, and genuinely worked to succeed. Unfortunately, instead of being supported, this institution left me feeling deeply discouraged and defeated.
The grading practices require immediate review. Students are failing courses by less than one point and are then required to pay to retake entire classes, which feels financially motivated rather than educational. There is no reasonable review of borderline cases, despite the serious financial and emotional impact on students.
The appeal process is ineffective. Appeals receive responses from the Dean almost immediately—sometimes within seconds—strongly suggesting that they are not being meaningfully reviewed. Reinstatements are rarely approved, making the process feel procedural rather than fair or compassionate.
Communication is another major issue. Students are not clearly informed about drop deadlines, often discovering it is too late—after financial consequences are already unavoidable. Transparency is lacking, and students are left unprotected.
There are also serious concerns about instructional quality and professionalism. I have witnessed professors sleeping during class and making contradictory statements, such as saying that it does not matter how lung sounds are assessed, while the same skill is listed as an automatic failure. Students are then reassured that “this professor will pass you,” creating confusion, inconsistency, and anxiety.
Students are spoken to unprofessionally. Being told that questions are “silly” is unacceptable in a healthcare education setting where asking questions is essential for patient safety. Additionally, students are now required to clock in and out like a job, yet are not treated with the respect afforded to adult learners.
The dress code is enforced inconsistently, with rules being selectively applied depending on the student or situation. This creates an environment of unfairness rather than professionalism.
Rules are added or changed frequently, sometimes weekly, with little consideration for students’ lives—such as long commutes—despite students being on time and performing well academically.
What is most disappointing is the clear disconnect between what is promised during orientation—support, care, and commitment to student success—and what students actually experience. The environment prioritizes rigid rules, financial penalties, and quick denials over fairness, transparency, and genuine educational support.
No student who is truly trying should be made to feel the way I was made to feel at this institution. I strongly urge leadership to review these practices and take accountability for how students are being treated.

How do you pass your math final but not the class. Please explain this. The school isn't bad because the hours ate great. I always thought if you passed your final then you would have passed the class
