I was here when I was 4-5 years old, and now I am old enough to share my gripes with Knowledge Beginnings at Wellesley. I will not share specific details for the sake of privacy, and I have to be vague as to not share incorrect information because I am pulling from my oldest memories.
I had what was in effect a communication disability. Instead of being properly accommodated, my teacher(?)/supervisor(?) lady, whatever you call it, sent me to the office when my disability inconvenienced her, and this happened very, very often (almost every day at some point). I believe these trips to the office had no real point other than keeping me out of class because they didn’t know what to do with me. The principal/director(?) there in the office was either indifferent or unkind to me, I remember. She might have been just teasing me, but she still hurt my feelings. :(
Ignoring my bad experiences, this is comparably a decent preschool. Lots of fun toys. Drawing on the Smartboard was fun too. I napped every day and played outside. This establishment’s name is a bit misleading in my opinion - I didn’t even learn how to read here. I only recall being taught phonics one-to-one, none of which I understood, let alone retained. It’s ironic how they tried to teach me phonics, yet I don’t remember them giving me any books/materials to read when the whole point of learning phonics is literally to read. But to be fair, I probably missed out on a lot because of how often they sent me to the office.
Years have passed already. I imagine this establishment has improved since then. What I experienced might not be happening anymore nor have the potential to happen again. Even so, if your child has a disability, I recommend against sending them here.

We love Knowledge Beginnings! We’ve had consistent, wonderful teachers for the infant classroom. Amy has been a great director and communicates very well with parents. Our baby is well cared for here. Highly recommend!

My concern with this daycare is that there was a fire drill and I was out there. I am a foster parent and the kids are supposed to be away from the building. The kids were leaning on the wall against the building. The alarms went off. It wasn’t a fire drill. The firefighters took a little bit longer to get there. They came out very very late And the kids were all over the place. The children need to be away from the building when there’s an alarm whether it’s a fire drill or not.
I call for the Director. I spoke to the assistant Director and she just told me that she knew what she was doing. That’s a safety issue. If it would’ve been a real fire, those kids were leaning on glass windows against the brick wall and they could’ve been more damaging consequences. Please attend to this issue for the safety of the children and your staff.

The quality of care is exceptional. I have a set of 3 year old twin who have learned and developed beyond their age with the guidance of teachers and staff. Would highly recommend.
