Absolutely Amazing Tutor! I had to retake Calculus 1 (MATH 220) course at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign which is a notorious weed out class at UIUC. I was struggling heavily with material of the course and with the material of previous math courses that I taken prior to meeting with Phil. Through Phil's help I was able to not only pass the course but fully understand the material, be able to reteach the material to classmates, and learn how to study for math courses. He also helped to fill all the previous gaps in my math knowledge. He also helped to catch grading mistakes from TA's on my Exams. He also was very flexible on how we meet and adapted to help fit the way I learned. Would 100% recommend to anyone who is struggling with math and needs a great tutor to help them!

With Phil’s help, I was able to end the semester in honors precalc strong, despite only having started sessions with him a month before winter break! He is extremely knowledgeable in the foundations and principles of math at any level and strives to help me understand the concepts and material rather than just memorize it. He not only creates an understanding environment to learn, but personalizes his teaching to the student in front of him by keeping individualized notes about each session that allow him to seamlessly resume teaching the concepts being reviewed. Using his teachings and notes, it allows me to grasp complex concepts by using them as a reference. Phil’s an amazing teacher to work with and I’m forever grateful I go to him! Thanks to him, I’ve started to regain my confidence in math that I haven’t had in years. My grades in math have only continued to improve thanks to to him, so I seriously recommend that anyone considering tutoring in math check out his services! Thanks Phil! :)

I had an amazing experience working with Phil during my Math 160 course. Discrete mathematics is notoriously difficult, and Phil somehow found a way to make it digestible and straightforward. If I ever felt uneasy about a concept, Phil could see that and continued breaking it down until I got it. It's clear that Phil has a passion for math. Any question, easy or hard, was another learning experience and a rabbit hole for us to dive into. Spending a few extra minutes on a problem would always bring valuable insight into areas I had trouble identifying on my own. Phil would never make me feel bad for making mistakes. He is patient, friendly, and talented. Phil also offers a free consultation to discuss your needs and goals. Don't be afraid to give him a chance!
