Testing and Assessment Services is an organization created by the President Executive's Group of BYU–Idaho. Its mission to assist faculty members in creating effective assessment methods and exceptional curriculum. It aims to support, train, and assist faculty members in finding more effective tools, applications, and uses of assessments. They do this by one-on-one training with individual professors, in which previous course materials and assessments are evaluated and realigned with target academic objectives. Course level outcomes and assessments are calibrated with syllabus material and department goals to ensure the best educational quality for all BYU–Idaho students.
I am frustrated when my time and effort aren’t valued. For example, when I take a math test and am allowed to use a note card, I spend 20–30 minutes preparing notes on it. However, after the test, my note card is taken away even though I’ve got access to the test questions as well as my answers
and mistakes in Knewton Alta on Canvas.
This policy feels unnecessary and counterproductive in this particular case for calc exams. If I’ve put in the effort to create the note card, it should remain with me for future reference or learning. While I understand it may be a policy, policies should be reviewed and updated if they are inefficient or outdated.

Honestly worst place on campus. It used to be tolerable when they had the giant desks that you could actually do work on. But since they've gotten rid of those and you're stuck with this tiny little 12-in by 12-in desk to do everything on it's basically impossible and intolerable. The only good thing is that they have a music room so that for those of us who can't work in silence you don't have to.
