Couldn't be happier with Challenger Boise. Our son started reading and writing in preschool and has thrived academically ever since. Reading, writing, math, PE, science, art, public speaking, computer coding-- the curriculum is comprehensive, rigorous, but also achievable for most kids. The teachers are attentive and friendly and genuinely try to make school fun for the kids. Disruptive behavior is not tolerated, which makes the classroom a true place to learn (and not be distracted). Our son always has a smile on his face when we pick him up from school. Wish this campus offered grades past 1st.
All that said, the curriculum and format is NOT for everyone. Kids who aren't used to rules/structure may have a tough time adjusting. The bar is set high for all kids without exception. Busy parents may struggle with the daily routine of packing lunches, managing homework, and the various special events.
The cost is high, but I'll say this: Pre-K to 1st grade are some of the most developmentally formative years of a child. Setting a strong foundation early sets them up for academic success wherever they go. Kids are capable of so much and Challenger makes the most of it.

Our experience at Challenger School Boise has been truly wonderful. Every teacher and staff member is amazing—kind, loving, and genuinely invested in each child’s growth and success. You can feel how much they care the moment you walk on campus.
The academic skills being taught are incredibly advanced, and it’s impressive to see how confidently and enthusiastically the children learn. Our child has grown not only academically, but also socially and emotionally, thanks to the supportive and structured environment.
We are so grateful to be part of a school community that sets such high standards while still making every child feel valued and encouraged. We highly recommend Challenger School Boise to any family looking for an exceptional education.

If I could give this school zero stars, I would. Ms. Elizabeth is an EVIL person. Children are not safe in her care. She lies to parents and hides punishments. We enrolled our 4-year-old daughter, who chews nails, and asked Elizabeth if she could wear a bracelet to chew instead. She agreed, and so did the teacher, and we provided a doctor’s note. On the first day, within an hour, the teacher told my daughter to put away the bracelet, ripped it from her hands, and made her cry publicly. Later that day, when I arrived to pick up my daughter she looked upset. Elizabeth looked me in the eyes and told me that my daughter had a great day. She said “she was good with no problems.” But when my daughter got home she said she was sent to the principals office twice and cried a long time. Shocked because I had spoken to Elizabeth during the day about some paperwork and at pick up and she said nothing. When I called and pushed Elizabeth finally admitted she lied. Elizabeth told me she left my 4 year alone in her office and told her that she would not return until she quit crying. Elizabeth said that made my daughter cry more so she was left even longer alone. Elizabeth said my daughter kept saying “it is my first day I just don’t know what to do”. My daughter was forced to cry alone again later that day because “she didn’t show immediate compliance.” When I came to get my daughter (we didn’t do the car pick up) Elizabeth was the one to get her from the class. It took a long time. My daughter told me that Elizabeth wouldn’t let her leave unless my daughter promised to tell me that she had a great day. She made my daughter promise to lie to me in order to leave the classroom.
Elizabeth did finally apologized, and she said they would apologize to my daughter if she returned, but when we did, the teacher refused to apologize in front of us. I should have left then, but kept her for the rest of the day. My daughter, who has never been a behavior problem before, was clearly distressed and mishandled, and I am disgusted by the care she received. Her new school she thrived and never had an issue ever. Elizabeth gave me a full refund when requested because she knew she had been caught. My daughter is now 5 and the top dancer in her age group at her studio, and a wonderful student who is excited for kindergarten with zero behavior issues. Any school that leaves a 4 year old to cry on her first day of school for over 30 mins at a time is an awful school.
