Our children have gone to this center since they were 8 weeks old. We have been through Covid, a couple manager changes and the structure of the corporation has found ways to stay consistent and fulfilling for our family. The current management team goes above and beyond. The first year of TK, that our son is currently enrolled in, keeps him engaged and learning new things daily. I have no doubt he will be more than ready for kindergarten!

We have been extremely happy with the care our daughter has received at Pleasant Hill KinderCare. Since starting, Jessica has gone above and beyond to get to know the families and provide excellent communication.

KinderCare was initially a really great place for my son. He loved it- the teachers loved him; it was great! At the end of June my son contracted an infectious disease called clostridium difficile (known as C-Diff). I was NEVER notified that he was sick, I found out when I noticed on the KinderCare app that he had been pooping more than before- no one told me he had diarrhea or that he was more fussy than normal. I happened to take him in for a COVID test and supplied a stool sample since he had been having some abdominal pain and loose stools only to find out he had C-Diff by happenstance.
This disease is EXTREMELY rare in infants- so rare that infectious disease physicians had to determine his treatment, our regular pediatrician could not treat him. A few weeks later everything cleared up and he was 100% normal again. Last week, I noticed similar symptoms and took him in to find out he contacted C-Diff again AND E-Coli!!! We had to consult with infectious disease physicians again and he is on the highest most frequent dose that is allowed for infants.
I pulled him from daycare as soon as we got the test results stating the above. When reviewing KinderCare’s policies, clearance from his PCP was not required to return to daycare (policy requirement), I was not contacted within one hour of my son becoming ill (diarrhea) and he was not required to be sent home (policy requirement), and to my knowledge, no parents or health authorities were notified of the contagious disease(s) (policy requirement).
A few facts for you:
- C-Diff is a disease that results in the disruption of normal healthy bacteria in the colon leading to inflammation and severe colon damage (if not treated correctly).
- C-Diff can only be transmitted via spores of a contaminated object, person to person via spores, or frequent antibiotic use (my son had never been on a single antibiotic in his life prior to this), pointing to poor sanitation and/or allowing contagious children into the facility on KinderCare’s end leading to transmission of the disease.
- If not treated with antibiotics, a fecal transplant or surgery, this disease can cause severe damage to the colon and can be FATAL.
All in all, I had a hard time coming to the decision to pull him out, and contacting authorities about everything that happened simply because his teachers loved him so much. But at the end of the day, the negligent actions that KinderCare administration and teachers took, either intentional or unintentional, could lead to the death of a child- and that’s something I will not stay silent about.

Clean, experienced teachers, only NAEYC accredited center in the area, a lot of great learning happens here, and it's evident when looking at the classrooms.

The teachers here are amazing and love every one of the kids. They do everything to keep them safe, happy and healthy. They teach them manners and how to take care of themselves just as we do at home on top of the normal schooling.
My kids have food allergies and they are very attentive to that. Every day they scrub the place down thoroughly to help with the germs kids are known to spread around and always make sure to inform us if there are any viruses or other things going around so we can be prepared. They handle themselves with poise when presented with helicopter parents and difficult situations. I couldn't ask for better environment or group of care givers to help raise and take care of my babies.
