I have no bad things to say about Hiawatha Kindercare. The staff are great about communication and are very transparent regarding all of your concerns and questions. I enjoy seeing all the updates of the activities they do throughout the day to keep the children engaged and learning. While it’s never easy to drop your child off for the day, it makes it easier knowing that they truly care for the kids like their own. I highly recommend them for your littles.

I honestly couldn’t imagine sending our children (3 and 10 months) to any place other than Hiawatha Day School! When we began looking for a center for our oldest, we toured almost every place in town. I had/have incredibly high expectations for childcare and Hiawatha Day School was the only one that met (and then exceeding) all of them. I love the fact there is only one room per age group which promotes a very “family” like atmosphere. Because of this, all the staff know the children and the families which adds even more of a personal touch. I love how there is a focus on routine and predictability rather than a free for all, play all day approach like I saw at some centers we toured. Their cleaning processes are also top notch and the center is always very clean and secure. The school also has wonderful, personal touches like having someone come in and do music with the classrooms, organizing baby chicks to be brought to the school in the springtime, working with the community to have fire trucks and police officers come for safety week and hosting an annual spring musical for families (and these are just a few of the many examples!).
Yes, the center is more expensive than other places in town, but I truly believe you get what you pay for and the product at Hiawatha Day School is worth every single penny. As a working mom, I knew when sending my kids to a center I was going to be paying someone to help me raise them, and I honestly couldn’t imagine a better place to rise to that ask!

Our 3 year old daughter started at HDS this year in the preschool room. We couldn’t be more pleased with the facility, the curriculum, or more importantly, the staff. They treat our daughter like extended family and we are proud and thankful to be part of the HDS community. She has learned so much this year!

A few months ago, my husband and I found out that we are expecting our first child. We couldn't be more thrilled! In an attempt to be proactive, I called Hiawatha Day School right away to see if there would be an opening for our newborn following my maternity leave, and if so, if we could schedule a tour/visit of their facility. I've called numerous times and left numerous messages with this simple request as an interested parent, and I have heard absolutely nothing back. I continue to be promised that the director will call me, but it's been close to 2 months now with no word at all - she's always out of the office, in a meeting, etc. Every other daycare that I've contacted in town was able to schedule a tour/visit for my husband and I over the phone the first time we called. I am saddened and extremely disappointed that this is how you treat potential clients.
After calling again this morning and leaving a message for the 3rd or 4th time, I finally got a call back. I was told, "Scheduling tours/visits hasn't been our focus lately, as this is a busy time of year with graduation, report cards, interviews, etc." Shouldn't potential clients and customer service always be your focus, regardless of the time of year? She followed up by saying that there are no infant openings for next year. It would have been nice if I had been given this important information the very first time I called almost 2 months ago, as making a final decision on where we want to enroll our baby has been delayed waiting to hear back from Hiawthat Day School. At this point, even if there had been an opening, I wouldn't have taken it based on our disappointing experience and interaction with your agency even before walking in the door.
