My son started here at the beginning of November (first daycare for him). He is having so much fun going to daycare and playing with his friends! Miss Addy and Miss Demeka have made this transition easy for him. 🥰

If I could give them zero stars, I would. This is THE worst daycare so far in Cedar Rapids. My son got RSV and hand foot and mouth disease which he had to spend a week in the hospital for the RSV. I know a lot of people would say you can get those from anywhere, but parents are still sending their kids there knowing they're sick and KinderCare allowed it. I was told that my son could come and just to put socks over the HFM. We all know if you're around a sick person you would get sick but at the new daycare I haven't had any issues with that because they don't allow it. I walk in to my new daycare at pickup and they're cleaning up but never before have I seen his room clean at KinderCare. The first day he transferred to the room in the back it looked like crackers were stepped on and smooshed all over the carpet. I felt so disgusted that I didn't even want to set him down in that room because EVERYWHERE was dirty, the chairs and the library area which didn't have many books and the costume area which barely had anything there either. Even the teacher he had in the first room told me she wouldn't send her daughter back there because she didn't trust it. That worried me. Ive seen teachers get their hair taken down in the gym when they should be watching kids. I've picked up my son once and they didn't know where he was at but eventually found him in the bathroom with 3 other children that went missing. After that I asked for him to be sent to another room that seemed better but eventually that teacher left and it kept going downhill from there. I would pick him up and he would be in the back room where I asked multiple times not to put him in there. Eventually the teachers that wasn't watching him in the back became the teachers in the middle room that I asked to have him moved to. I've seen a kid get stuck in a toy box there who was crying as I walked my child into his room in the morning and there was 3 teachers and a parent in the room not even helping him (the teachers not the parents responsibility to help the child) there's been multiple times where I had to call up there to talk about how dirty the rooms were in the morning when they should be clean. I get the end of day being messy but not at drop off. Ive seen a child run up to a teacher and hug her leg only for the teacher to shake her leg to get the child off. This was a HORRIBLE experience for me and my son. Most days I didn't even want to go to work because I worried about my sons safety here. Any time I could pick him up early or had a day off I ran to pick him up because I didn't want him there longer than he needed to be. I am so glad that I have found a much better school who doesn't play about being clean. The task is not hard I've worked at a daycare with 2 year olds before and understand how classes should be ran. Even with the switch to the new director all of this has happened and I feel as if it fell on deaths ears. Like I said I am so glad we were able to find a cleaner daycare and a daycare that loves children. ❤️
