I attended ISSNMT from April 2025- Jan 2025. During my time there, I was met with a very low functioning administrative team. The members of that staff changed atleast every 2 months. I am a VA Dependent Student which means I get a stipend every month for being in school. My original graduation date was 10/28/2025 but due to my own hardships (that the school was aware of) that date got pushed back. At the end of September I asked the Financial Aid office if my VA will be affected in November since I wasn’t registered to be there that long. The answer was “No, this happens all the time with VA students, you’ll be fine” November comes, no check. 2 weeks into November, still nothing. I ask the school, they say they will look into it. 3 weeks into November, nothing. So I call the VA and they said they had absolutely no information on any current enrollment. Which means they thought I wasn’t in school. I brought this to the attention of the school and nothing was done to fix it despite them saying they would.
A separate situation. January 2026 which is actually the reason I am no longer at the school. To preface, I have been having issues with 2 teacher my entire time (let’s call them A and B) And the reason is that they are egotistical beings and I did not stand for their disrespect the way others did. On Jan 13th/14th I heard from another teacher that A was speaking about me to another group of people. This was not the first time this happened. At the point, A is not my teacher and I’ve had enough of this grown man speaking on me. So I found him and very calmly I said “hey if you are having any issues with me, I just ask that you take them up with me” he cut me off to say “I don’t care, I’m the director” and walked away. I said “okay, I’ll just find someone who does care and see what happens” at this point, B popped out of here classroom. he said “girl” and I responded with “boy”. Giving him a taste of his own medicine got him upset, he followed me around the school as I went to look for an Admin. He kept saying “either she leaves or I quit” keep that in mind. When I went into the office of the Admin I needed to talk to I closed the door cause he was still following me. He busted the door open and then multiple admin came to calm him down. Even B was physically holding him back. At this point I went to my car to leave because I felt unsafe, theres a man trying to charge at me, there were no students around and anything could have happened. I drive away but I turn around to make a statement before my words are flipped. I give my statement, the Director of the school assured me that I wasn’t going to be kicked out because I am very close to finishing. And then a few days later, I was kicked out. They said that I was “drunk” and that I violated 4 codes including bullying and harassing clients. The codes I said I violated, never happened and even if it did I was never given any warning about my behavior from anyone. I never signed anything making me aware of these claims so they really just pulled them out the sky. They had to find any reason to kick me out because they didnt want to lose a teacher.
Aside from all of this, the school doesn’t really care about you. They do a lot to make you think they care just so they can get you in the door. Once you’re in, you are on your own.
