Center Academy began in 1968 with the vision of its founder, Dr. Mack Hicks. Seeing the need for a specialized, full-day school for students who were falling through the cracks in traditional schools, Dr. Hicks established one of the first schools in the US to focus on the needs of students with Attention Deficit Disorder and other neuropsychological processing difficulties.
With a team of professionals in the fields of neuropsychology, education, and individualized remediation, CA opened its first classrooms in the Science Center in St. Petersburg, FL.
As Center Academy has expanded to locations around FL, and into Smyrna, GA , it has stayed true to its mission and kept its focus on addressing the unique needs of each student.

We have never seen him so self-confident in his academic abilities and social skills. Additionally, the “no homework” policy has enabled us to provide after school enrichment opportunities for Elijah, that otherwise would have been consumed by homework assignments. Keep up the good work, CA-PH. We love your educational philosophy…and kudos to you, Mr. Kaser and Mrs. Reedy, for implementing that philosophy so brilliantly!
