I went in to tour the faciality. I must admit it was clean the area my child would be in how ever the staff was not friendly minus the director she was extremely nice great personality very knowledgeable. She really made me want to consider my child being there but the staff was looking so mean no smiling not happy at all the babies smiling cheesing in good spirits but the staff just didn't look like they enjoyed their job. One baby was separate from the others crying while one staff was feeding the others and the other staff was I'm assuming getting the baby ready for feeding but he was not being held or sooth while waiting and when they notice me staring the Asian lady finally picked him up for 2mins and put him back down and he was crying again. That right there made me say maybe I should keep looking however it a nice building in a good area but they maybe should let their teachers know they should smile more and look and act like they enjoy their jobs

So thankful for the staff at this daycare!!! From beginning to end they have made the transition into daycare for my son so easy and went beyond all expectations I had set!
I receive updates CONSTANTLY! Ms. Amanda spends 1v1 time with him everyday!!! And his teacher Ms. Kamaya eases my mom heart with her care!!! Not only that but the director Ms. Sherry has answered any and all questions I’ve called & emailed about! She’s even picking up the phone to assist on her days off!!! She has checked in with me to ensure the transition into daycare is going well. Just a 10000/10!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!

I highly recommend finding another childcare center. After a full year of attendance, my two-year-old was suddenly expelled for “spitting” — a normal toddler behavior — right when the center was clearly short-staffed. The real issue isn’t the children; it’s the lack of qualified staff, poor supervision, and a director who punishes instead of nurtures.
Staffing and Licensing:
Every morning there is usually only one teacher in the classroom, and she does not hold the proper license or credential to care for the number of children present. This violates Florida Statute §402.305(4)(a), which requires minimum staff-to-child ratios (for example, 1:6 for 1- to under-2-year-olds and 1:11 for 2- to under-3-year-olds) and mandates one credentialed staff member for every 20 children. The classrooms here consistently appear to exceed those limits.
Supervision and Hygiene:
My daughter has come home in soiled underwear after being left unchanged for hours. Florida Administrative Code 65C-22.001 requires direct supervision — meaning staff must actively watch and respond to each child. The Child Care Facility Handbook, which is part of that law, sets clear standards for health and sanitation during diapering and toileting, and they’re not being met here.
Discipline and Treatment:
The director frequently scolds toddlers and labels them “problem children” instead of recognizing the center’s staffing and supervision failures. The Child Care Facility Handbook (Sec. 2.8) specifically prohibits discipline that is severe, humiliating, or frightening, and forbids any punishment related to toileting — yet that’s exactly the tone the leadership sets.
Because of these repeated issues, the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Child Care Licensing Team will be notified of the ratio, supervision, and licensing violations observed.
If you care about your child’s safety, hygiene, and emotional development, please look elsewhere. This KinderCare has one of the lowest ratings in Jacksonville for a reason — and after our experience, I completely understand why.

The reviews speak for themselves. In our society, trusting strangers to care for your children is one of the most important decisions and a tough one to make. In our climate parents rely on the expertise, knowledge, and compassion the teachers of KinderCare posses. I must say that the leader of this well established organization is by far the most professional and knowledgeable director I’ve ever come in contact with. Her tenacity, spirit and love shows through each and every one of her teachers which is then passed down to her students. If you’re looking to find a place to enroll your children in, I highly recommend KinderCare of gate parkway! Aside from the excellent curriculum your child will receive, most importantly they will be well taken care of. All thanks to Ms. Barnes and her dedicated team!
