We are so very happy with HKC! We had a bad experience at our previous daycare and needed to move quickly while also regaining some peace of mind. The staff were so welcoming and professional and kind. Our girls thrived right away! The director and regions director respond quickly, efficiently, and warmly to parents and treat the teachers as humans first. Even on the craziest days, the staff are all cool, calm, and collected. We highly recommend this center for engaged and meaningful care and education!

All three of my children (one in after and before school and two in full time care) are enrolled at KinderCare and we have overall had a great experience. No center is perfect but Heather, Kim, and the team have been attentive to my feedback when there have been issues or concerns. They also have been communicative with me when my children are sick, injured, or not behaving appropriately. I have had experience at another childcare center, as well as had a nanny previously so we are well versed in the different options for childcare and we have been pleased with our experience with KinderCare at Hockessin. Ms Nichole and Ms Ritta are wonderful and my children feel very comfortable with them (and so do I)!!

We transferred to Hockessin KinderCare in August of 2025 after experiencing some challenges at our previous daycare facility that we felt were poorly addressed by leadership. From my first time there for my tour and since, I have seen just how much site leadership and staff cares about the children in their care. My daughter can be slow to warm up in unfamiliar situations and was given the space and support she needed during her early days at the center. She has since been promoted to the preschool room and our experience has been stellar. She is making strides in her academic learning and we have seen her come out of her shell with her peers and teachers. Leadership is responsive and proactive with any questions, concerns, or feedback and we see our daughter’s teachers as partners in her care. To provide a clear example, our daughter recently started wearing glasses (a need that was identified by a cost-free Lions Club screening done at daycare!). I communicated the support we needed to ensure her compliance wearing them at all times AND her nerves about wearing them to school/being the only kid in class with her teachers and the site director. I promptly received a message thanking me for letting them know and assuring me that they would help her build great habits on site and that they would hype her up when they saw her wearing them for the first time. I received multiple messages from her teachers keeping me updated on how her first few days wearing the glasses were going and my daughter was so excited to tell me that she “matches” her teachers because they also wear glasses. I could not be more grateful to Heather, Kim, and the whole Hockessin Kindercare team for creating a safe, inclusive space for the most important person in my life. I know and trust that I can carry on my workday without worrying about whether my daughter is being treated well and being taught new skills.

Switching from a school I did not feel comfortable leaving my child to this new school, kindercare, was the best decision I made. I noticed a huge behavior difference as well seeing my kids learning new things everyday. My favorite thing is seeing all the outside activities they do especially in the summer! “Forest Friday”‘by the creek. My boys love their teachers and are always excited to go to school in the morning. Management also does a great job when it comes to cleaning and keeping illnesses away as much as they can. Thank you kindercare for putting my nerves at ease. ❤️

Honestly I was waiting for a little to write something. If i could give this school zero stars i would. Some of the staff are great and others aren’t. They do not care about your kid growth the way they say they do. If your kid gets easily upset or triggered please do not send your kid here at all. They will call you few hours after drop off and constantly tell you she’s doing something and that you have to pick your kid up now. My daughter never had issues with biting or scratching , and supposedly she was doing all this stuff she never did at home or to her younger brother. Some of the staff kept recommending evaluation multiple times which i kept getting them done back to back and the doctors cleared her so many times. She was just never heard out by the teachers, completely ignored by them. My sister was dropping off my daughter and i was told the teacher never tried to comfort her or to get her to go in the classroom. Don’t get me wrong some staff , actually try their hardest and best to do what they can even when they see you struggling yourself but those intentions aren’t real. They won’t hear or listen to you. When I first walked in here i was told all they do is care for your children but that’s all just a lie. I’m glad my daughter left this school and she’s in a better please where the teacher tells me there was never nothing wrong with her all she needed was attention, she’s doing great here. She’s striving somewhere else , please find a better school to put your kid into.
