  Do not send your child here! My husband and I decided to send our two year old to daycare here two days out of the week. The first week he was so excited and we would get updates on the app on how he was doing. Week two he didn't want me to leave him and that was strange because he has always been a happy kid. On October 30th was picture day . Around 10:15am I received one call no voicemail while I was at work. I happened to glance at my email and it was a message from the Director Derek. It stated that my son was fine and that he and a classmate were throwing soft blocks at each other and before the teacher could intervene the other kid scratched my son on his nose. I called the school to see what was going on and if my son was ok. He stated that everything is fine and they were just being boys. I asked how did the scratches look and he said they were small. I felt uneasy and decided to leave work early and go get my child. As I walk into school I stopped by the office and asked if I needed to sign paper work and Derek says oh no it's with the teacher. When I got to the class all the kids were in the middle of nap time. My child was far away from all of the other kids with a nose full of snot. My child's face look like a wild animal attacked him. I checked his body and it looked like he was being chocked and he had a scratch under his neck and the back of it and hands. As I look at the indent report the teacher had the nerve to draw a happy face on the paperwork. I went back to Derek's office and told him this is unacceptable this is a "you need to pick him up now situation" he's response was cold and he said "IM SORRY YOU FEEL THAT WAY" this man never once got up to look at the wounds on my child her just didn't care. On my way home Derek sends me an apology email instead of talking to me in person. My husband went to the school and showed Derek the pictures of our child's wounds and told him to find out what really happened to our kid. He came back and had the teacher rewrite the incident report and put severely injured and where and when it happened. We asked for the district managers number and if she could give us a call. She calls us the next day and gives us a whole different story on what happened. She stated that Derek says that my son and another kid were playing together and throwing soft blocks and the teacher yells across the room to tell them to stop. Another kids grabs my child and scratches him and my child tries to get away from being attacked. Why wasn't my child protected! This is not ok! Now the state is getting involved!

  I highly recommend Greenwood Avenue Kindercare to parents of babies and toddlers in the Torrance area. Since 2020, my wife and I have enrolled our two daughters at this location and we are consistently impressed with the hands-on staff and curriculum-based approach, from the intent and toddler program classes through Pre-K. Both of my children have unique personalities, and we truly appreciate receiving detailed, up-to-date feedback about each of them, not only from their teachers but also from the management team [Special shoutout to Ms. Jasmine, who has been at this location for some time and has always been lovely to our children]. While we have seen some staff turnover in the past, 2025 has brought greater stability, which is always welcome. Most importantly, the children are safe, well cared for, and are actively learning.

  Greenwood KinderCare has a professional and fun environment feeling which plays a very positive, important role in my childrens lives. Both of my children have started in the infant classroom and one is now in the pre-k whilst the other is in the toddler classroom. I have seen positive outcomes in my children such as, developing social skills, learning structure and routine, no TV, educational and art activities, having fun/play time with friends, emotional growth, diverse learning experiences and preparation for school. The teachers are very caring, attentive and have open communication which I greatly value and trust. I get regular daily updates on my children through the daycare’s application. They share with me on how my kids did that day, and during drop off and pick up, they are very easy to talk to. The teachers and directors answer my questions and get back to me whenever I send them questions via message, phone or when I ask in person. The facilities are safe, clean, and the daycare is an open door policy where I (the parent) can swing by unannounced to see how my little ones are doing during the day. I have to admit that I got EXTREMELY lucky as there was a waitlist and I signed before COVID was over (2021) so I did have to wait a bit, but after some time, spots opened up. It was understandable due to the overwhelming increase in demand of childcare has gone up in recent times. I am grateful to have found a daycare that makes my children feel supported and nurtured everyday.

  My child has been part of the KinderCare family since six weeks of birth. During this time she has learned many motor and social skills while being cared for with love and respect. There have been incidents of course, as they do occur when you have many exploring infants gathered at any time, but none that have put my child in grave danger or one that wasn’t meet with care, attention and action in order to address future incidents. The facility is secure, clean and well maintained. The infants’ room is well organized and the teachers are consistent with feedings and diaper changes. The toys and kitchen area are always clean. The office staff have always been supportive even when I have brought my concerns to their attention. Ms. Elvia and Ms. Cynthia have always answered my questions in a fast and courteous manner. Mr. Ryan is amazing, so friendly, and kind. My toddler loves this place, her face lights up when she realizes we’ve arrived for another day at daycare. She comes in the classroom and Ms. Risonna, Ms. Jazmin, or Ms. Laura receive her with a smile and/or a hug. It’s a wonderful feeling to pick her up in the afternoon and hear Ms. Sydney tell me all about her day or find her enjoying a book in her arms. Ms. Ale is my child’s favorite teacher and she’s not even in the infant room; she’s a pre-K teacher! All of the infants’ teachers have showed a nurturing spirit and amazing support. An improved online parent portal has been the answer to many of my stated concerns. I love that I can make my payments online now and the various payment options I have. My statements are readily available too. What I would like to see, and this is more for the corporate office, video streaming and a mobile app to check in on my child. I would like to see the Infants “My day” form be in digital format accessible through my mobile device. I felt it was time to give my review. My experience has been amazing. It’s a comforting feeling to know, that although I must work, I have a great team that supports me and takes care of my child with such tender care.
