Just wanted to add my review for Kindercare here as I think it's long overdue. This daycare center has been here in the same location since, I believe, 1959 when current director Mrs. Emily's grandparents opened it as Mother Goose. She still runs it day to day. It was bought by a statewide chain, Kindercare, just 2-3 years ago.
My wife, child and I were living out of state, but in 2021 were moving back to the Richmond District where I grew up. Searching for a Preschool for my kid online was a bit stressful, but we came across Mother Goose/Kindercare and did a Zoom interview. We did luckily get a spot and have been here ever since. Our child is set to graduate to public school Kindergarten in a few months so it is with some sadness that we will be leaving and our kid will be saying goodbye to many of his little buddies soon...
We have been very happy with our experience here, the teachers have been great. Loving, kind, but firm with the kids. There's two big play structures out back and there's always weekly activities going on like mini-train rides and holiday festivals. There's also optional programs like music and soccer. They also serve food & snacks that for some reason my kid actually eats(!) We always felt like our child was safe and secure here and provided with a caring teaching environment. An online app provides daily reports and photos so you can check in on how they're doing.
The best part is the continuity with the older staff, some of whom have been teaching there for decades. My kid literally has a friend in his PreK class who's mom went to Mothergoose as a kid here back in the 1980's. The same teacher who taught her, is now her 5-year old's teacher!
My only complaint is that some of the younger, newer teachers have seen some high turnover. This may not have anything to do with the school and more to do with the cost of living in San Francisco, but many of my kid's younger teachers (some of whom he really adored) moved on after 6 months to a year. But again, not something that is necessarily within the school's control, and maybe this is endemic to all schools across the city right now. Just my two cents.

Great preschool. Our kids both have gone here, from A level through E level, and have worked with most of the teachers. We are very happy with the school. They find a happy medium between fostering creativity and (later in the program) developing academic skills in preparation for kindergarten. The school is good at retaining teachers that are effective, while cutting loose the few that aren't. Highly recommended.

My son has attended MGS for 3.5 years and my daughter has been there for 1.5 years. They love going to school every morning and I am grateful for the loving teachers, the age-appropriate activites and curriculum, the other wonderful families and children that we have befriended over the years, and the affordable tuition. Both of my children have done very well and get complimented frequently by strangers on their good manners. MGS offers a structured but loving environment. We recently went through the kindergarten application process in SF and admissions directors at the private and parochial schools we visited all expressed their high-regard for MGS and the quality of the kids performance when they move on. Ms. Susan is very well respected and I have found a wonderful partnership at MGS. Thank you!
