I’m extremely disappointed with the KinderCare Mission Grove Center. As an African American parent, I feel my child has been unfairly treated — and I’m not the only one. Another Black mother is going through the same thing. The staff constantly calls within an hour of drop-off asking for my 4-year-old to be picked up, as if parents don’t have jobs or responsibilities. When I can’t immediately come, they get an attitude. Are child development classes not a requirement for staff?
I also paid for soccer classes that my child wasn’t even allowed to participate in because they insisted he be picked up “immediately.” They constantly complain about my child’s behavior, yet when other children hit him, there are no consequences for them. My son even apologized to Ms. Denise, and she refused to accept it — how is that setting a good example for a preschooler?
After paying for a full week of care, I was told my child could no longer return. Will there be a refund for the unused days and soccer fees? The lack of professionalism, empathy, and fairness is unacceptable. I truly hope KinderCare looks into the biased treatment happening at this location.
