A step above the rest. Shores Kindercare provides a beautiful environment surrounded by nature. The staff are friendly and always ready to help. They greeted my little one with a big smile each day and helped her transition into the classroom. They also have a VERY clean environment for babies, staff and parents put on booties before entering the baby room. My oldest went to a different daycare for his first few years and the entire school would get sick any time an illness popped up. My youngest has not had that same experience here. It's so clean!

The Director Mindy is rude. And has a bad attitude.

My son has been going to the Shores center for over 6 months now and I am constantly impressed by care my son receives. The teachers are very good - loving and caring. They are always enthusiastically looking for ways to teach new stuff to the kids. The facility is clean and very well managed.

I would say that yes this place is a great establishment, nice facility with friendly staff and teachers, and super structured. However I would strongly not recommend it for young newborns, or until your little ones are mobile or at least able to crawl and sit up on their own. I sent my girl when she was 3 mo and it was super nice at first. The teachers are flexible and will try to accommodate their needs. But when it comes down to it, it’s really hard for them to carry on their duties consistently because the 1:4 ratio for newborns this young does not work with a facility this big. The cribs are in the same room/classroom. Teachers go in and out from breaks, make shift changes, have days to call in sick, etc and the managers will shuffle things around to maintain the class. The front desk staff would fill in or some filler teacher would. They have to catch up on rotations and find out what’s going on as they go. There’s lots of adult talking noises, radios, and door slamming all day. There would also be days when the other classroom is combined with the non-mobile classroom due to staff shortage or small class size. Now you’re dealing with walking and active toddlers all over your defenseless little one. They also have activities they say they do daily, but in reality with all this going on there’s only so much they can squeeze the developmental stuff in. Don’t get me wrong I still like the teachers. They are super nice and friendly. But the set up does not allow them to be successful. My honest opinion.

Let's start off first by saying the one star reviews listed in this centers section are as far off as you could get from the reality of what this center brings to this area for families. The negative review by one parent is sad to see as I see that person in the hallways everyday happy and joyful to be dropping their children off. Yes you might be asking yourself why they made it in the past tense when they are still present at the school. let that be your guide to if this review is factual and accurate of the center..let's just say my everyday experience with all the different amazing people that support my children and my ability to maneuver in this difficult region with extremely high expectations on the workforce is amaing. With that said please see an actual review of this awesome establishment:
Shores Child Development Center is the best school my children have attended in the Silicon Valley. I found them at a time when I needed backup care urgently. After that first day of my child attending Shores I knew it was the place for our family. I recommend this school above any other that is available. Not only in the kindercare system but overall in the valley. There are numerous factors that contribute to this statement.
The first and most important is their teaching and executive leadership. Loving, caring, knowledgeable and dedicated are just a few words I would use to describe the people that are charged with my children's early education and care. They are second to none. The second is their ability to work with your child's individual need while still focusing on the age groups holistic goals and needs for their development. They offer additional one on one tutoring for skills that can be carried through life. Third is their schedule with early morning drop off to late evening pick ups. Fourth is their facility condition and how they care for it. It is clean and cared for down to the most granular detail. They have onsite facilities to wash all their communally used items from toys to linen's. Their class rooms have up to date teaching tools for all age groups and the outdoor structures cultivate and encourage curiosity and skills development in every child. Fifth they offer warm lunches for purchase at an astronomically low amount with all dietary restrictions in mind..
