I had recently moved into this home and Childers was recommended for my heating and air conditioning unit for maintenance since I did not know who installed this unit. Tyler ran into some problems getting into the panel that was closed up like Fort Knox but he spent the time to get the panels off and cleaned up the area afterwards as well as secure it back. I will be glad to have them back out in the spring for maintenance check as well.
- RRRusty RubleNov 7, 20255.0November 2025 This is the way of it. The furnace was working great when you turned it off for the remainder of Spring, Summer and as far into Fall as you could stand it. You start waking to frost on the house roofs, windshields and yards and a chilly house. You put on long sleeves or sweatshirts and tuff it out another 2 or 3 days dreading to officially kickoff the outrages heat bills but the time has come. You turn the thermostat up and nothing happens. The breaker is in and that’s all you and I can do for it. That’s where I found myself the last of October 2025. I don’t have a furnace guy so I ask Google who can I call. I had 5 choices so I started calling furnace repair companies only to find out the rest of WV must have had the same sorry luck as myself. One company was not taking new customers. One charged $250.00 an hour to come work on it. Two companies couldn’t get to me for 3 to 4 weeks. Childers said they would do their best to get to me in a week. Six days later enter David B., technician for Childers Enterprises of Beckley, WV. I’m 69 years old and have had perhaps a dozen service and repair personnel to my home over the years but I’ve never had a more pleasant, knowledgeable and straight to work guy than David. In 30 minutes the problem was detected, parts were ordered and we were shaking hands saying goodbye until he comes back as soon as the parts come. I found the Childers experience to be Top Shelf from the initial phone call forward. They are now on my speed dial and my default heating and cooling repair company and I can in good faith recommend Childers and David B if you need help. He covered his shoes before entering our home and took time to look over the work that needed to be done. He began promptly and worked efficiently. Earl is clearly skilled at his job, and he was also very neat—cleaning up each area thoroughly as he finished. I would definitely welcome Earl back for any future plumbing repairs. Highly recommended.
