  I figured despite their reviews, I would give Marcell's a try. A lady answered, and she was pretty rude when explaining the difference between a "service call" and "cleaning". Difference? She took my info and was able to schedule me within 10 days, then she saw that I was a new customer. She asked "Well since you are a new customer, and we haven't worked with you before, we will need payment up front before service is done". Great way to build trust with your new customer! Never in the years or the hundreds of service businesses I've worked with required payment before the service is completed. Weird, and very rude! This place needs a new receptionist.

  Just an abrupt phone call, but a very frustrating one. I was calling the area providers off of a google search to see if someone could help me with an issue our home inspector found. I have no knowledge of fireplaces so I had little understanding of what needed to be done, or even how to explain it fully. The man on the phone was almost angry with me stating, "I can't send someone out until December". I just wanted to verify that I was asking the right questions and giving the appropriate information so that I would not waste either party's time, but he kept cutting me off, repeating " I can't send someone out until December!" At that point I became frustrated and just ended the call. Called the next company on the list and they were very patient and helpful. Turns out the service I was looking for is actually provided by a different type of company all together! So had I just stopped asking questions and "scheduled in December" as the man on the phone demanded, I indeed would have wasted everyone's time, money, and effort! I still had to book out into December, but with the right company. I understand times are hard and the world is short staffed, but a little kindness and patience goes a long way, especially in a profession where your customers don't exactly know the ins and outs of how it works.

  Call to inquire about having a simple fireplace maintenance done. Only response I got was " we won't be able to get to any of that type of work till next month" obviously in a hurry to get on to more profitable work that was the feeling anyway. Went with a competitor of theirs and the job was done and exceeded our expectations only 3 days later

  My wife and I walked in one morning and saw an older gentleman sitting behind a counter, talking to a young couple. They were both masked. He was not. While the couple continued looking at display model, he made no attempt to help us. A young woman walked in and saw that we were not being helped so tried to answer our questions. She was unable to so gave us brochures. She also was unmasked. My wife and I are recovering from covid so it is alarming to see local business owners who don't care about the health of their customers, especially at a time when local hospitals are maxed out with covid patients. We will not go back to Marcells.
