Midwest is amazing! Our furnace went out after midnight (Happy New Year) got strung along for HOURS by Mr. Holland. Called Midwest and Zach came out within the hour. Found out the furnace died and needs a replacement. They are quick, efficient, and FAST. Also for non members a diagnostic trip was $229. Also leased us a space heater. Just, I would’ve called them so much sooner if I wasn’t given the run around by the other company.

I got an estimate from them and the inspection was thorough, but when they can out for the furnace replacement estimate, the guy Matt really pressed to try and close the deal with me. I told him I wanted to get multiple quotes and run it past my dad and he didn't like either of those things. Next two places I called said Midwest sells crappy units and just slaps their sticker on them to call them signature series. Anyhow, I didn't like the experience and felt it was overpriced and they really avoided talking about the quality of the unit.

Midwest heating and cooling is the 2nd company I contacted to solve my furnace issue. The 1st company diagnosed it as a bad control board but didn't have the board available, even though they say they MIGHT have it. It was estimated to be available in 5-7 days and sometimes can take 2 weeks. Not wanting to wait that long. I contacted Midwest and they say they have it in stock and they deal with Amana and Goodman furnaces I pretty much wasted my money on the 1st company since I had to use the emergency service. The technician from Midwest did a more systemic inspection of the unit and confirmed that the control board is at fallout but they can't determine what else might be the issue until the control board is in. Only took them 30 mins to get the board and came back to replace it. Initially I was shocked by the quote given to replace a control board, about $900 after tax. I grilled the technician about what he would do and for how much time is needed for each part. There was no breakdown on the estimate and I didn't like that. I felt it was too expensive to just replace a control board. I went with it anyway because I still need heat. Replacing the board was easy but the problem wasn't solved. Ken the technician got on the phone with tech support and checked every voltage and current in the circuit. That took hours. They finally got out down to a shorted gas valve. I was impressed by Ken because he worked through lunch to isolate the problems after a new control board is put in. In the end. I'm going to need a new heat exchange because the gas valve is no longer in production and a different valve might cost me half the amount of a new heater. Since the unit is 10 years old. Replacing the whole thing was a better long term choice. After the service. Ken sent me the invoice with all the photos he took and walked me through where the furnace could fail. Other than the lack of transparency with their estimate (seems to be like this in this industry) I trust Midwest to correctly diagnose an issue.
