- DWdennis warns2 days ago5.0About 7 AM the other morning I realized it was cooler than normal in the house. Looked at the thermostat and it read 63°. I realized my furnace did not kick in on the schedule in the morning. I tried a few things and the furnace still didn’t work. I called Black Haak for service and was put on the schedule for that day. Finally, after trying something else, the furnace started up. But I still needed to find out why it didn’t work. Johnny came to the house and was very personable. He explained everything that was happening, how everything worked and what he was doing to find the problem. He also informed me what to look for and what to do in case something should happen again. After doing a full reboot and making sure that everything was firing up correctly, he found a potential problem. And if it wasn’t the problem this time, it could be in the future. He decided to take care of it at this time. He got the parts ordered, and it was fixed the next day. He met all my expectations, especially for an emergency visit. He did a great job. And, now I know how a furnace works. You’re never too old to learn. Thank you, Johnny.

They have done work while I was not home & I never was worried. I told them I have cats and to make sure they don’t get out and I trusted they would do so. They’re very responsive, do great work, & are always willing to answer questions & explain everything to me once they’re done.
- SVSubru VangJan 5, 20265.0Our furnace wasn’t working so I called the afternoon of 12/23/2025 and Morgan came out right away. I received a text along with a picture so I knew who would arrive at my doorstep. She was very knowledgeable and was able to point out different mechanisms of the furnace that wasn’t working properly. She immediately noticed that the pressure switch tubes were not connected to blower motor/inducer. A prior service visit from another company forgot to plug them back in. After properly connecting the tubes she tested and noticed that the fan relay was not triggering the fan to run when set on “auto.” We didn’t realize since the fan was always set to “on.” She only charged us for the service visit. Thank you Morgan for being available the day before Christmas Eve. I love that Black Haak has a crew who is always available and super friendly.
- JHJulie HenkeDec 27, 20255.0I was very happy with Black-Haak Plumbing (Mark Verhagen) for service on my non-working, older water softener on 12/3/25. Out of a few different Plumbing businesses that I called, Black-Haak was the only one who could come the soonest (the next day) & their pricing was comparable to the other businesses. Also, even though my water softener is 23 years old & probably should be replacing it, instead of insisting on selling me a new unit, & at my request, Mark troubleshooted it & blew out the rust blockages that were causing the problem, then did a manual regeneration, which seems to have fixed the problem, at least for now anyway, so I was happy paying $157 versus $2,000.00! I also liked it that Mark was very knowledgable, nice, & driving quite a distance to my house wasn't an issue!
