  Remodeled first floor. After spending some time with the results, I feel ready to give feedback to neighbors. GOOD: Gabor's contract was very detailed. I didn't need to sign it until all the different categories (paint, cabinets, flooring, plumbing, electrical, etc) were nailed down. That gave me a good overview of how much the total would be and then before I signed I did do some tweaking because I was trying to keep the cost down somewhat. Total was over $80K. I was given a schedule of which subs were going to be coming to my house on which day. Assistant Manager showed up every day to make sure subs showed up and that things were getting done. Overall, it went smoothly - people showed up when they were supposed to. The subs seemed competent, though the electrician screwed up some things which he had to fix. But those mistakes were fixed quickly. Their payment schedule was laddered so I paid as the project progressed, which is very good - never pay upfront, neighbors. NOT GOOD: Tara was not good to work with. Maybe she had too many clients? I don't know. She wasn't responding to emails so I had to book meetings with her; she screwed up my blueprint plans after I clearly told her what I wanted. I'm sorry to say I would avoid her - I looked at her business card and she's not a certified Kitchen/Bath Designer, just a sales lady. I was very frustrated working with her. Had to hire an interior decorator to help me with paint colors and give other advice. Tara should have been doing that, but she seemed clueless - I found myself telling her that xxx appliance needs to be moved over here, etc. Her kitchen design left some of my appliances sticking out beyond the cabinets - how can you make a mistake like that!!?? Everything should be lined up. After the install it was too late to fix. Tara knew I was unhappy with paint choices for cabinets - didn't fit my decor - and many months later she told me....I can choose any paint color and they can custom color the cabinets for an upcharge. NOW she was telling me? I almost put in cabinets with a color I really didn't want. Also, the kitchen cabinets they recommend are not very good quality. Within a year the doors were warping and now I have to live with that. Would I hire them again? Maybe a small simple project. For large project, probably not. But when I hear about horror stories about remodels, I'm glad I went with them.

  I have nothing but good things to say about for Gabor Construction following the completion of our guest bedroom home project. We transformed an unused storage space above our garage into an incredible guest bedroom, and Gabor delivered a comprehensive solution that covered everything from the interior decorating to the procurement of interior hard assets; lighting, plumbing, electrical, etc. The project involved increasing the building's roof height while the result was exceptional, thanks in no small part to their outstanding customer service. We had complete satisfaction with the finished job. My wife and I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Ryan Seawall specifically for his exceptional dedication to customer service, even after the project was completed. We encountered a minor issue with the garage heater after the job was completed, and Ryan went above & beyond to ensure it was promptly and effectively resolved. His actions exemplify the kind of service that makes a difference. We are so impressed with Gabor's work and Ryan's attention to detail that we will not only recommend their services to others but also look forward to working with them again on future house projects.   We had an excellent experience working with Gabor Design Build. They respected our budget and helped us to select quality materials that fit within it without compromising our vision. The work was high quality, from the design advice to the demolition and rebuilding. It's wonderful to look in our kitchen and love everything about it! We credit that to the design expertise, top quality installation and diligent oversight of the work. We did run over budget due to additional choices we made and due to issues with our old house. Even with these changes, the work was completed on schedule. Gabor provided excellent communication throughout the project and was very diligent about coming back for minor touch ups. Our thanks to Scott, Dana, Pete, Shane and all the installers for a job well done!

  Gabor Design Build (GDB) have been phenomenal. We contacted Nathan Gabor about purchasing land and building a new house and the processes couldn’t be going better. Always professional, courteous, and kind, Nathan and his entire staff have helped us though every step of the build process making it as easy as possible. The advantages of working with GDB are endless. First off, Nathan is an architect that fully understand the trade-off between form and function. Furthermore, he is brilliant at striking the perfect balance to provide you with a beautiful home that is extremely functional. While this will be our second home, it is our first time building, and the number of decisions to be made are nearly infinite. Nathan and the entire GDB team are exceptional at making the process easy. We simply put together photographs of exteriors and interiors that we liked, shared it with the GDB team, and when we showed up at the showroom, they had everything laid out with suggestions for everything. Sarah, who helped us with interior selections, had so perfectly picked out everything that we essentially just had to say yes to her selections. But as we did that, she carefully watched our reactions, and inquired further if she didn’t believe we were 100% satisfied with what she had picked out. With a few quick questions, she would return with a couple other options, one of which was always perfect. The GDB team is truly great at what they do. All of this was done keeping our budget in mind. Nathan made sure he had the house within our preset budget, and whenever we would ask for upgrade options he was always extremely fast to respond with options, the benefits, and costs. There are no hidden expenses with GDB. Lastly, and most importantly to us, the GDB Team are good people. Just ask around the Germantown/Mequon area, and you will only find good news.
