  I have nothing but good things to say about for Gabor Construction following the completion of our guest bedroom home project. We transformed an unused storage space above our garage into an incredible guest bedroom, and Gabor delivered a comprehensive solution that covered everything from the interior decorating to the procurement of interior hard assets; lighting, plumbing, electrical, etc. The project involved increasing the building's roof height while the result was exceptional, thanks in no small part to their outstanding customer service. We had complete satisfaction with the finished job. My wife and I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Ryan Seawall specifically for his exceptional dedication to customer service, even after the project was completed. We encountered a minor issue with the garage heater after the job was completed, and Ryan went above & beyond to ensure it was promptly and effectively resolved. His actions exemplify the kind of service that makes a difference. We are so impressed with Gabor's work and Ryan's attention to detail that we will not only recommend their services to others but also look forward to working with them again on future house projects.   Absolutely a phenomenal experience remodeling our entire second floor. The process to pick out all the finishes and bathroom amenities was easy and relaxing. The representative did not push us to pick anything outside of our budget. The project manager was the best part of the entire 10 week process. Shane answered all of our questions regardless how minute they seemed and stopped by the site almost of daily basis to ensure the contractors were on track and doing everything the our specification and request. It was an absolute pleasure to work with the entire Gabor team and would definitely recommend them to anyone who is looking to remodeling (from small to big projects).

  We used Gabor Design Build for our kitchen remodel. We were excited to get started and create our dream kitchen. From the beginning, there were some red flags looking back - but we chalked them up to - "it is part of the process." We really liked working with Tara and we had a friend use Shane in the past. There were delays in the beginning, and again we were told - "that is part of the process." For example, they began demo but then told us that our cabinets were on backorder and wouldn't start construction until they were in. At the time, we thought they should have checked on that prior to beginning to tear out our existing kitchen, but - "it's part of the process." Our project manager was a nice guy, but did not communicate well with us or the team. Contractors often came to our house and not know what to do. Thankfully, my husband or I were typically at home when they would arrive and could direct them. Cabinets were ordered incorrectly a few times. Days would go by without anyone working on the kitchen. The dry wall and tiling were done so poorly that they had to come back and fix it - I believe they even fired the dry waller on our job and hired someone new. The actual construction team that was employed by Gabor were great. They were skilled and worked hard. We were very happy with them. It was the people who were contracted out - in addition to the tiler and dry wall - the painter they hired was incredibly unprofessional, expensive, and took days and days to paint a small area. Our project also went way over schedule. The two biggest disappointments are the poor quality of our cabinets and the down right rude owner. Our cabinets have already been replaced once by the cabinet manufacturer (Gabor installed) - we did our kitchen almost 3 years ago. They are chipping again and look like we've had them for years and years. We have contacted Gabor numerous times and rarely get a response. The few times we do get a response, we are told that this is normal wear and tear. Absolutely not. We've had other professionals look at them and they agree with us. The paint is cracking off at the seams and is chipping n places that do not get any wear and tear. I understand chips where we put away dishes and such, but chips at the top of our cabinets that I can't even reach? Our friend who originally recommended Gabor, was able to get us an appointment with a project manager to come and take a look - but again we were told this is normal wear and tear. I do not recommend a company who stands by such a poor quality product. We just got our two bathrooms completely refinished by Kowalske Kitchen and Bath (who we highly recommend) and the stark contrast in quality of cabinets and professionalism is unbelievable. Once the kitchen was nearly finished, we had water streaming down out of our ceiling where a wall was removed during the remodel. The owner, Nathan, chalked it up to a faulty roof. We knew this was not the case as when they removed the wall, an engineer was in our attic and saw no water damage. Our kitchen was down to the studs, and we saw no water damage. He refused to allow his guys to look into it and instructed our project manager to have us hire roofers. Luckily, one of the guys on the team checked it out for us. He found that the plumber did not seal the pipe on the roof after the wall was removed. When it rained, the water came directly through the pipe and through our ceiling. We called and wrote an email to Nathan - and did not get a response. After spending a substantial amount of money, dealing with several other issues along the way, and just out of respect to a customer - it was infuriating to never hear from him. Our neighbors had a very similar experience with Nathan. We have held off on writing a review because we don't like being negative and appreciate that there is "a process" - but after our remodel with Kowalske, we see how terrible our experience with Gabor really was. EDIT: We emailed 3 times following Gabor's response to our review - they never wrote back. It doesn't look like anything has changed.

  We recently did a whole house remodel and we selected Gabor. As stressful of an experience as this could have been, the Gabor team made it much easier than we expected (yes - I said easy!) from the design phase all the way through to project completion. Their professionalism, attention to detail and their timely communication made this much easier than we could have hoped for. It started off at the design meetings and carried through the final construction. The designers did an amazing job. They gave us options based on our vision for the project. Not only did they expertly plan out our must haves, they proposed more than a few things we did not discuss nor expect. In the the end, they optimized every square foot of our home and accounted for all of the finishes that make this our dream home. Their construction team and project manager paid attention to every last detail from demo through handing back our keys. Friends and family who have seen the before, during and after of the project commented on the quality of the workmanship and the attention to detail. We feel like they treated this project as if they were working on their own home. The best part of the project was that it was on time and on budget. They were so thorough in the design phase that even though there were several structural changes to the home, there were no surprises. The only overages that came about were from our decision to change materials. Even through those changes, Gabor was flexible and accommodating never once giving us the impression that we were asking for something outrageous. They simply said “yes” to all of the changes and then made them happen! We have recommended Gabor to several people. We will continue to do so as I am confident in their ability to exceed expectations. I know that because they did just that on our home. Thanks Scott, Jim, Tara, Adam, Dana and all the the crew! You guys ROCK!
