Originally, I did not want anything other than wood replacement, in order to maintain the historic character. After interviewing a number of contractors over a 2 year period, I agreed to vinyl window inserts with aluminum cladding wrapping the exterior trim. I hired Jody with Wisconsin Window Pros for a number of reasons, including that I believe he offered the best product, he showed me the product installed in his own home, and patiently answered my persistent questions. We talked about him installing insulation around the windows when they were replaced. Apparently Jody forgot to write this in the order. During installation, when I questioned the workers about the insulation, they called Jody. When I spoke to him about this, he immediately acknowledged his mistake and told the workers to install the extra insulation at no extra charge. Having additional problems with downstairs windows, Jody came over today to discuss options. If I decided to address the problems with window replacement or simple aluminum wrapping of the window casing, I plan to hire Wisconsin Window Pros.
