  When I called Harts I was very clear on my situation. A frost-free hydrant was rusted and had broken off. This hydrant was on the water line coming into my house. So the water to my house had to be turned off. I called and was told someone could come out the next day. Before I got off the phone, I went over again my issue. No water, the hydrant was dug up and exposed, just couldn't unscrew the broken piece of faucet from the water pipe going into the house. I was told no worries, our trucks are completely stocked. Next day, plumber looks at what needs to be done and tells me he needs to call in. Then tells me they can have someone out in a couple of days!! When I repeated I was without water and asked why they would send someone who wasnt going to work on the problem he said he would call in and see what they could do. He came back and said they could have someone out today... for OVER $5200.00!!!!! Completely outrageous. When I told the plumber it was way too much he said it was outside the house. We'll, no shit. That is why I emphasized the issue when I called. On top of that, after looking at the outside repair issue, the plumber wanted to do a whole house inspection. WHY? Instead of sending out an estimator looking to drum up more work with your whole house inspection, send someone to fix the problem that I called for. Parts for my issue are less than $150.00. Emergency service and a few hours work is no where near the price quoted.

  I have always found the technicians at Harts to be helpful, taking the time to explain everything they plan to do. In our case, our project ran into unexpected issues; this can easily happen anytime you have to cut into a wall or dig into the ground. We really appreciated how our technicians worked with the unexpected, helping us in every way they could and and talking us through all our options.

  Harts customer service & Miguel provided outstanding service today. He was extremely helpful, professional, and clearly very knowledgeable in his work. He took the time to explain everything thoroughly and made sure all of my questions were answered. I truly appreciate his attention to detail and the quality of his work.   Absolutely do not use Harts for plumbing services. I don’t know how they have high reviews on average but I suspect it’s rigged. We have a toilet upstairs that is leaking through the ceiling below. Because we were going to go through insurance to cover the costs to fix the water damage, we wanted a professional to diagnose the issue. Jesse came out and charged me $565.65 to cut a hole in the ceiling to determine if the leak was coming from the toilet. Upon cutting the hole in the ceiling, he looked under the toilet and determined that the water was coming from the toilet but not why. So, I didn’t know if it's just the wax ring or something else. At first he wanted to charge me another $350 to pull the toilet and replace the wax ring which is ridiculous because it’s easy to replace a wax ring but I was going to pay it. Upon seeing my toilet, he bumped that up to $750 saying he’d have to secure water to the whole house, which ended up being a lie. Plus, another $400 just to shut the valve at the road?! Actually he pushed to replace the toilet too, but I didn’t want whatever toilet he happened to have in the van and he was going to charge me $1400 for that repair. In any event, I told him to stop work and decided we’d handle it ourselves. My husband pulled the toilet and determined that the wax ring was shot and that the flange might need to be replaced. And he didn’t have to secure water to the whole house to do it. Also, Jesse said the floor was fine. It is absolutely not fine, which we could tell just by looking at the linoleum. We have another plumber coming out to fix the flange then we’ll fix everything else.
