Lumber Liquidators Tacoma branch, especially its manager, Jake Wood, and Terrell and the shipping staff have pulled off so much calm for me. If I could give them a dozen stars, I would! I needed a light hardwood, click-together, not nail-down because my new-ish home with an open concept style was built by folks who loved light woods almost as much as I do. I despise greys. I wanted smooth finishes. I wanted a real wood veneer that was more than paper thin. I did not want vinyl or the fancy, silly, dirt will get in all the little indents of the trendy wire-brushed styles I was finding everywhere. Mold that grows in walls is not a covered repair by insurance, so two of our most used rooms would need to be repaired by us with no insurance funds. (One brand store demeaned me, thinking I couldn't pay much for a new floor because I am elderly. I will boycott them and give them a poor rating, even though I spent thousands there when we bought this home.) Desperate, I wailed to my son, a high end designer who taught me to be a wood snob. He called Tacoma's Lumber Liquidators and golly, do they know how to do business calmly. I found a lovely maple flooring, and they had it in stock along with the threshold materials, the waterproof underlayment, and even a little bottle that covers up scratches. Scratches happen. It is a dream. This weekend we paint. Next weekend, we put down the flooring. Then the movers can help us put the furniture back. We hope to host our annual Octoberfest before the month is out!
