Best experience I’ve had working with any contractor throughout the years. Top notch team whom were helpful and kind from start to finish. They matched our original 1939 windows perfectly and were highly detailed in their installation. Their finish carpentry on the natural wood trim was precise to add the cherry on top.

I am a three-time customer of Residential Home Solutions (RHS) in Spokane Valley. We have been living in our home since we purchased it new in 1996 The home originally came with builder-grade vinyl windows and LP T1-11 siding. About 10 years ago (2015 ish), the two largest windows in the house began to fail; we noticed condensation between the panes and we were starting to get frost build up on the inside of the window. Along with that, the builder-grade windows let in lot of infrared heat so things were fading, and the house was hot in summer and cold in winter. We called around for quotes to replace the two windows, and the best value and performance we were offered were from RHS, so we had them replace those windows. Fast-forward to 2025 and the T1-11 siding on our house was failing along with more of the builder-grade windows. We called around to several widow and siding contractors in the area and we got several quotes for vinyl siding, LP SmartSiding, and two companies for James Hardie Hardie-Board siding, one of them was RHS. As far as windows goes, we got quotes from Renewal by Anderson, Marvin, Pella, and VPI through Residential Home Solutions. When we compared the pros and cons of each along with the price/performance of each type of siding and windows we opted for Hardie-Board siding and VPI widnows through RHS. We are thrilled with the results. Since we were doing both siding and windows, RHS said we should do the windows first so they could cut back the old siding, remove the old windows, install the new ones and make sure the nail flanges and flashing are installed correctly. I am so glad they did because as they were cutting out the old windows, I saw that they had no flashing around them which explains why we were getting water inside some of them even though they hadn't failed. A few weeks later the siding crew came in and got to work. The tore off the T1-11 siding, repaired several places where the sheathing had water damage (the builder cut many corners so there was flashing missing at many points), applied James Hardie vapor barrier, and taped it up so we shouldn't get any moisture against our sheathing again. The crew then fixed areas where the builder either didn't apply flashing (roof peaks) or didn't adequately apply flashing (around pipes and wiring that penetrate the sheathing) to make sure everything was sealed before installing the siding. The whole process from removal to completion took 6 work days, but the house looks fantastic! Neighbors who have never spoken to us before other than the obligatory hello as they walk by stopped to talk about the siding, the cost, and the results. Everyone in the neighborhood likes the results and is impressed with the efficiency of how quickly it was installed and the quality of the installation. That said, I love the results and I know this house will be around for generations to come. Thank you, Ken and your team of professionals!
