  WATCH OUT FOR YOUR MAPLE TREES! I requested a quote for a gravel road on my unimproved lot. The quote was reasonable, and he also mentioned that I could sell some of the maples on my property to pay for part of the work. I didn't think anything of it until a week later I noticed that nine of the very old maples on my land had deep gouges taken from their bark- some of the trees even had multiple marks on them. In order to repair these gouges and eliminate all crevices that could be used to shelter insects which would cause further damage, these gouges had to be widened to about hand-sized. Luckily, I had a neighbor keeping an eye on things who was able to tell me that a logger named John King had come out there to ping the trees for logging. He had gotten his card, and it was for a completely separate logging company called South Sound Tree Experts. When confronted, D&T took responsibility for sending John out there and agreed to give me seven young trees to make up for taking that liberty. To their credit, these trees were much bigger than I had expected and promptly made available to me. In light of this, and since I expect the maples to make a recovery, I just want to warn other people working with this company to TELL THEM that you don't want your trees inspected, even if you are speaking to them about completely different excavation work, since that inspection involves cutting deeply enough into the tree to make shelter for wood-burrowing insects.

  Really happy with the work D&T Excavating did for me. Looking to solve a water drainage problem by installing a 40'L x 4'D curtain drain. Thought about doing myself but glad D&T did it. It was done quickly, correctly, and professionally at a fair price. I'd probably still be trying to finish it... Thanks guys!

  Very happy with my experience working with D&T Excavating. We had them do work in our back yard removing several tree stumps, remove debris from our pond & pull a couple trees. They were able to get everything done quickly & professionally. I would highly recommend them.
