I can only speak for my experience. Needed some chimney work in November 2025.
Run by a couple of British guys, that to be fair are nice and friendly.
Original scope of work was for new flashing and a new crown which they gave me an estimate of ~$1800
They ended up demoing down to the roofline then wanted ~$15,000 to complete the job.
They left the debris and I think we worked out ~$1200 for work done.
I ended up finishing the work with MK Home Solutions for $7,500. I really wish I went with them to begin with because they had given me a more accurate representation of the work that needed to be done before hand.
Masonry is really hard work; it's a lot of hauling around enormous weights, so don't think that I lack the appreciation for how difficult this job is.
I have immense respect for people do the labor.
Like many mason businesses around Seattle these aren't the guys that did any of the labor.
They hired a Hispanic crew a paid them some kind of daily rate.

Frequently Asked Questions About Local Seattle Masonry & Construction
What basement masonry repair service you provide?
Our basement masonry repair services address damaged brick, block, stone, or mortar in basement walls. These services include crack repair, mortar joint restoration (repointing), wall stabilization techniques, and remediation of moisture-related deterioration.
What causes basement masonry damage?
Basement masonry damage typically results from several factors including water infiltration and inadequate drainage, seasonal freeze-thaw cycles, hydrostatic pressure created by saturated soil, foundation settlement or soil movement, and deterioration of aging mortar or substandard original construction.
Are cracks in basement walls normal?
Minor hairline cracks can occur naturally as a house settles. However, cracks that widen over time, horizontal fractures, stair-step patterns, or cracks that allow water penetration indicate more serious structural issues that require professional inspection.
Can basement masonry damage cause water leaks?
Indeed, compromised or deteriorated masonry creates pathways for water infiltration, resulting in visible leaks, dampness on wall surfaces, mold development, and persistent musty odors in your basement environment.
How do you repair cracked masonry walls?
Our repair approaches are determined by the damage severity and underlying causes. Methods may include epoxy or polyurethane injection for cracks, restoration of mortar joints through repointing, application of masonry patching compounds or replacement of damaged blocks, and structural reinforcement using carbon fiber technology or steel support beams.
Is basement masonry repair permanent?
When our team correctly identifies the root cause and implements appropriate repairs-while also addressing fundamental issues such as drainage problems or excessive water pressure-the solutions we provide can deliver long-term or permanent protection for your basement masonry.
What's the difference between damp-proofing and waterproofing?
Damp-proofing provides resistance against moisture but cannot withstand water under pressure. Waterproofing, by comparison, creates comprehensive protection against water intrusion through specialized membranes, integrated drainage systems, and professional-grade sealants. The waterproofing approach delivers superior durability and effectiveness for long-term basement protection.
What waterproofing methods are available?
We offer various waterproofing solutions including interior drainage system installation, sump pump configuration, exterior waterproof membrane application, foundation crack remediation using epoxy or polyurethane compounds, French drain installation, and improvements to property grading and gutter systems. The optimal method for your home depends on the specific water intrusion source and severity.
Is interior or exterior waterproofing better?
Exterior waterproofing prevents water penetration before it reaches your foundation and provides the most comprehensive protection, though it requires more extensive excavation and higher investment. Interior waterproofing manages water after entry and typically offers a more cost-effective and less disruptive alternative. Our professional assessment determines which approach best addresses your specific situation.
How long does basement waterproofing last?
Professional basement waterproofing systems installed by our experienced team can maintain effectiveness for 20-30 years or longer, particularly when properly installed with quality materials and maintained according to recommendations.
