After researching roofing companies, Bates had the best reviews. From the very first call asking for an estimate, through the entire roofing job, they exceeded my expectations. And on the day of the job, they would communicate their work, send us pictures and followed up on how they did. I would highly recommend them and you don't need to look further.
Thank you Brad and team.

Thet worked with me when I did not have the money upfront. They came in and was so fast we did not even realized they were done. I will use them again in the future.

Excellent experience. Brad came out to do the initial estimate and sale. Nicholas and his crew were the ones to do the new roof and Dwayne was the quality control and point of contact during the project. All of them were great to work with. This is the only company I will be referring to my friends and family when they need a roof.
In the Pacific Northwest, roof replacement typically occurs when the roof is between 15 and 22 years old. To determine the status of your specific roof, we encourage you to contact us. We will gladly arrange for one of our experienced estimators to conduct a complimentary evaluation.
What are the signs that I need to replace my roof?
Several indicators suggest the need for roof replacement. These include interior leaks, roof sagging, missing shingles, exposed fiberglass mat, worn or aged shingles, curling shingle edges, and shingles with minimal remaining granules. If you observe any of these signs, it's advisable to consider roof replacement. We invite you to contact our office to schedule a free estimate with one of our professional estimators.
How long will it take to get a new roof?
The duration of a roof replacement project varies based on the roof's size, pitch, and complexity. For small to medium-sized houses, the process typically takes 1-3 days. Larger or more intricate roofs may require up to a week or more to complete.
Can I replace my roof in the wintertime?
Yes, roof replacement is possible during winter. As a roofing company based in Western Washington, we are accustomed to working in all seasons. Our expertise allows us to typically complete the old roof removal and new roof securing in just one day of favorable weather. Once we have 'dried in' your roof, your home remains protected from the elements, enabling us to finish the installation even in rainy conditions.
Are metal shingles better?
The choice between metal roofing and traditional shingles depends on various factors including durability, cost, aesthetics, and environmental considerations. Metal roofing offers exceptional longevity, often lasting 30 to 70 years with minimal maintenance, and provides superior resistance to impacts, wind, and erosion. It also reflects solar heat, reducing cooling costs, and can be manufactured from recycled materials. The decision should be based on your specific preferences, budget, and long-term objectives. Consulting with a Bates Roofing professional can assist you in making the most suitable choice for your needs.
How often should my roof be cleaned?
We recommend engaging a certified roof and gutter cleaning company for annual inspection and cleaning of your roof. In areas with dense tree coverage, consider biannual cleaning. Regular maintenance not only prevents future issues and preserves your home's value but also ensures the validity of any warranties from the original installation.
Can my roof be power washed?
Power washing is not recommended for roof cleaning as it can cause damage rather than clean effectively. Roofing materials are not designed to withstand high water pressure, which can lead to accelerated degradation, particularly on composite roofs. The pressure may also lift shingles, potentially causing leaks during and after cleaning. Bates Roofing advises against power washing roofs.
How much does it cost to repair my roof?
The cost of roof repair varies significantly depending on the specific project requirements. For an accurate assessment, we recommend a professional inspection. We offer complimentary, no-obligation estimates and would be pleased to arrange an evaluation of your roof.
Do you offer financing?
Yes, we provide financing options. We collaborate with multiple financial institutions to offer financing solutions tailored to meet our clients' individual needs.
Do you replace gutters and skylights?
Yes, we do. In addition to our comprehensive roofing services, we specialize in gutter and skylight replacement. This ensures that all components of your roofing system are maintained in optimal condition.
