I walked in was shown around chose samples I liked, brought them to Snohomish for 3 wks and then returned them. No deposit, no credit or debit card needed. The gal that helped me when I chose them and brought them back was so lovely and polite. If I am in need of tile or stone again in the future, I will love going back to see what's new and how they can help!

I was quoted a price from their neighbors up the street, but when I went in to place the order, they tripled the price...and lost my quote. (Handy, huh?) When I went into Distinctive, they were very nice, and immediately set me up for exactly what I wanted. I am a small customer, just needing a piece of marble for a small section of my kitchen countertop where I can set hot pans out of the oven, but they treated me as kindly and efficiently as they would have a BIG customer with an expensive order. They were honest, fast, and I ended up VERY HAPPY with the marble I received. They even carried the marble out to my car for me! I very highly recommend these HONEST, fair people for your needs!

Is it necessary to seal stone?
One of the myths outside the tile and stone industry is that granite is difficult to maintain. This could not be further from the truth. Regardless of the type of stone you choose, we seal your stone twice - once before we fabricate and again after the installation. With granite, the sealer only rides on the microscopic pores of the stone. It does not penetrate the stone the way a wood varnish seeps into the wood. We will guide you through any maintenance requirements prior to your final product selection, thus ensuring you get the right product for the right application.
What should I consider when purchasing a natural stone countertop?
It is important to understand that industry-wide granite is the benchmark of performance and longevity for all countertop materials. Put quite simply there is no other product that offers the strength, durability and beauty of granite. When sealed and properly maintained, granite is impervious to stains, it is heat resistant and is impossible to scratch.
Will cutting on my granite countertop scratch the granite?
No, it will however ruin your knives.
Can I set hot pans on my granite?
Yes, granite that is 3cm or 1 thick is dense enough to absorb the heat shock of a frying pan or dish from the oven.
What is the best way to care for my natural stone countertops?
We recommend using a clear liquid biodegradable soap as a universal cleaner for all natural stones.
