We have a 30-35 year old gas boiler heating system that needed a check-up and cleaning. The technician was on time, did a thorough job and explained everything along the way. The price was reasonable. No complaints. I'd recommend them.

Ok world, we have a winner! To all the current and potential future Climatemakers clients, five stars have been awarded to them for stellar work. My wife and I have been living in a 100+ year old two-story home for over 6 years, with inefficient heating/ When cooling on the lower level. When we moved in, the home inspection went ok, except for a few items that needed correction before the final agreement. Long story shortened, we were highly disappointed afterwards to discover that the downstairs unit was on its last legs. After many service calls to our home warranty company, it became apparent that the severely damaged air ducting was in total disarray. For which they refused to cover said repairs or replacement. It took many rounds of consultation with various HVAC providers, to see who could do the best presentation with a reasonable bottom line price point. Veteran discount included. This is where the story gets good. As it turns out, Mike Hayes (1 of the owners) came out to do the presentation. We were quite impressed afterwards, and we were sold on a new upgraded HVAC system. It was as if Mike had put on a Superhero outfit once we finished putting an awesome heat-pump packages with many bells and whistles together, along with an upgraded heat strip configuration. Well, as it turned out, there was a miscommunication with that line item, and a smaller unit was installed instead. After conferring with Mike, we were able to get the bigger unit at no extra cost, just like he told us in the beginning. He lives by his words, and he ensured that we were 100% Happy and Satisfied upon completion of said project. "WE ARE"!!! To many of his team members (Charlie, Anthony, Carmelo, Kels, and the rest; I/we could not thank you all enough for the professionalism, technical skillsets, and the awesome final product. "IT'S HARD TO STOP A TRANE"!!! Shout-outs to Anthony's son Zaikel, for coming back and completing the 1st half of the annual preventive maintenance on both units. He got the job done right! Afterwards, he pointed out some areas that may need to be addressed in the future. I'm also thankful for Kels taking on another job outside of the scope of the initial PM's. He granted our wish, when he installed a new smart thermostat on the older unit. Finally!!! :-) Thanks again Climatemakers!!! Advance Thanks PSL

Through the years I have used Climatemakers several times. I have always found them to be polite, knowledgeable and able to correct or repair the problem in a reasonable amount of time. Their prices have always seemed fair. I will continue to use their services in the future if needed.

I switched from Smileys to Climate Makers. They showed up on time. They respond. They text and email. Evan Svrcek was our tech. Very pleasant and helpful. He pointed out on the first visit after Smiley's had been there over a freeze up that we needed 2 pounds of freon. Smileys said we needed a new defrost board and a surge protector and a couple other things. 3rd freeze up since they installed the outside Trane unit. Also he pointed out that the additional heat strip in our 5 year old Trane unit in the attic installed by Smiley's had never been connected. We had a yearly service contract with a Smiley's. We have signed up with Climate Makers obviously. Looking forward to honesty and prompt service from Climate Makers.

Frequently Asked Questions About Climatemakers of VA

Does turning my thermostat up or down save money on my energy bills?

Yes! Resetting the thermostat when you are asleep or away from home can save money. By adjusting your thermostat four to six degrees up (in the summer) or down (in the winter) reduces the amount of run time for your heating and cooling system, leading to a reduction in energy costs. We recommend upgrading to a programmable thermostat to "set it and forget it" so you can control your energy usage on a daily and seasonal basis.

What is a SEER Rating, and why should I know about it?

SEER stands for "Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio" - it's rating measures how efficient an HVAC system is by calculating the cooling output for a typical cooling season divided by the total electric energy output during the same time frame. The higher SEER rating an HVAC unit has, the more energy efficient it is, which can be a compelling reason to purchase - however, the downside is that higher SEER ratings can often mean higher purchase prices. Be sure to speak with your Comfort Consultants for advice on the best system for your budget and home.
