I had an excellent experience with Cabinet Discounters in Springfield, Virginia, all thanks to Kevin Yarbough. He was courteous, helpful and extremely knowledgeable as he guided us through selection, ordering, pick up and resolution of issues. Cabinet Discounters is lucky to have him as a customer facing representative.
So far this kitchen remodel has been an extremely stressful experience. I hope that the situation improves. As things now stand, I won't have a kitchen for several months. More details to come.

I had a positive experience with Tessa back in 2015, tried to redo business with a new project, turned into a 3 month waste of time waiting for Jeremy. Went to Home Depot, the designer there listened, looked at my diagrams, made some recommendations, I made some adjustments, and within 2 days design finalized, ordered cabinets. Sadly this organization has lost the care for customer experience that Tessa provided, and was focused on upselling from Century, to HomeCrest, to Brighton ... At Home Depot there was no pressure, I got exactly what I wanted, someone that followed my requests, ended up adding more built-in features, and still cost significantly less then the vague (total amount, single page only) quotes Jeremy provided.
I had an excellent experience with Lois. She really knew her stuff -- including lighting. I also liked quality of the cabinets; and I had looked at many other dealers, but liked quality and price at CD the best. I also really liked CD's carpentry and electrical subcontractors. I would definitely recommend CD, especially if you can work with Lois. But the process is not perfect. Understand from the onset that you will be at the mercy of CD's schedulers (In my case, that meant that work didn't begin on my kitchen for 3 months after I signed the contract -- because contractors weren't available. Then, once the carpenters finished their work, there was a two week lull before the electricians and plumber returned to hook stuff up. I definitely wasn't happy about that. All work was done within the six week timeframe estimate CD gave me. But my kitchen is small. The job could have been done in three weeks if everyone worked straight through. ) Also, I would recommend that if you buy new appliances, you have your appliance dealer install them, not CD or its contractors. That might cost you a couple hundred dollars more. But if you have problems with the appliances, as I did, it will simplify having the problem rectified. (In my case, CD's plumbing and carpentry subcontractors weren't of like minds as to whose job it was to install the dishwasher. At end of the day, it wasn't installed properly. Had to have CD quality control come out to fix it. And it's still not right, according to GE repairman.
2022 Update: CD designed and installed new vanity cabinets (made in USA Brighton brand) in updating master bath. Installed by licensed tradesmen; quality installation and adjustments. Photo below. Met our needs fir design, price, and good communication. Recommended.
Below is my earlier review re kitchen remodel, several years ago.
We totally redesigned our 1980s kitchen with the help of Cabinet Discounters' staff designer Katie K., in the Springfield, VA showroom. Brightwood cabinets were flawless and installation went smoothly, as Katie worked closely with the carpenter, electrician, and plumber to insure that all would fit together. We spent a lot more time planning and deciding among options than it took to build the new kitchen, but Katie was patient and offered options without pressure, a major help to couples! Whether we wanted the most expensive or the least expensive options, the functionality remained the top consideration, so we now have a space where many adults can cook or hover, and traffic flows freely.
