  Extremely Disappointed — Poor Quality, Poor Support I moved into a brand-new Richmond American home and have had nothing but issues. The dishwasher was inoperable from day one and was installed unlevel. After service visits, it’s now technically working — but still doesn’t clean. I have to run a heavy cycle (using more water) and pre-rinse everything just to get them “somewhat” clean. A GE technician confirmed in person and via text that this is the most basic dishwasher GE makes — the absolute bottom-tier model. It continues to have problems and Richmond American does nothing but deflect and tell me that they will not help me. But the dishwasher isn’t the only issue. I’ve had to have the HVAC company out twice and the plumber out twice, all for problems that stemmed from how the home was delivered. The warranty department rarely responds to emails, and when they do, it’s often dismissive or deflective. Now I’m also dealing with trim separating around the dishwasher just weeks after move-in. There’s no way this level of deterioration, appliance quality, and customer service should be acceptable in a newly built home. Richmond American needs to do better. I do not recommend buying a home from them if you want any sort of quality or customer service.

  Working with Jim Lopez from Richmond American Homes was an excellent experience. He was professional, responsive, and kept me informed every step of the way. Even though I’m a Realtor and represented myself in the purchase, Jim went above and beyond to advocate for me and help navigate a few challenges along the way.
