  Yamen T came to our house to service our HVAC today and I was so pleased with how kind, conscientious, and knowledgeable he was. He walked me through what repairs needed to be done and why. He explained why the part broke, how to prevent it in the future, and fixed it all in great time. I’ve always been impressed with Ostrom, but this was an excellent experience.

  Dalton was a terrific technician from start to finish. He was friendly and outgoing, but more importantly, he seemed very good at his job. He did something I hadn’t seen before: he showed me photos and videos of each stage of his inspection, pointing out what was normal, what needed work, and what might need attention in the future. One part needed replacing , which he accomplished on the spot. On the whole, it was a very positive experience.

  Update: I'm taking a star off because I had to call them after work was done to relay that registration of the surge protector was no longer required per the company, contrary to what I was told. The issue is not that registration is no longer required, the issue is that when I called they evidently have a virtual answering service now, and I had to wade through many questions and still was not able to speak to a real person. For what one pays for service from Ostrom, we shouldn't have to deal with a virtual customer service rep, only to get nowhere. I left a number for someone to call me, and no one has called back. Suggest you hire someone to answer the phone, as it used to be. I hired Ostrom to change a 2-prong outlet and wiring that my washing machine had been plugged into (via a cheap adapter as the washing machine has a 3-prong cord) by the previous owner. Dan was terrific. He determined that the wire gauge was incorrect for a washing machine, so he installed not only a GFI outlet, but also a new wire to the electric panel. He also (with the assistance of his helper, Edie) installed a whole-house surge protector on my panel. Dan is meticulous. He is a perfectionist, in a good way. And such a very pleasant gentleman. Dan is very knowledgeable. When I need electrical work done again, I will be requesting Dan. Ostrom is a bit pricey, but with the caliber employee such as Dan, it is worth the cost. You know you are getting the job done right.

  I had Ostrom out to give me estimates on many issues with an older house I purchased a couple years ago. Adam H. came out, and gave me a wide range of options, explaining every possible repair and upgrade in great detail. I hired him about a month later to install a new sump pump and line for it, as well as an upgrade to my main water shut off valve. He was accompanied by a young man named Winston (my apologies if I forgot his name, but I believe that is correct). They were both extremely professional, and worked in a swift manner, keeping me updated every step of the way. I had an issue with the volume level on the sump pump, and they were able to find a permanent and quality solution within 30 minutes. The prices were very reasonable, and the work was finished to perfection, including clean up, and the yard was even reseeded with straw placed on top in the areas they had to dig. I will be hiring workers from Ostrom again in the future to upgrade a list of items related to my plumbing. I highly recommend that you work with this company, as you will not be disappointed!

  We’ve had Ostrom out for a few different issues now, and several employees truly deserve recognition. Today, Chase and Alex replaced our electrical panel, and let me tell you, these two are a super team. Think Batman & Robin, Sherlock Holmes & Watson, Tom & Jerry, Han Solo & Chewbacca… you get the idea. Their work was absolutely pristine, and they’re both incredibly personable, which made an hours long job feel easy. They patiently answered all of our many questions and even humored me when I “needed” to use my label maker to label the new panel. Ryan from HVAC also deserves a shout out. He’s extremely knowledgeable and was able to quickly identify and fix another technician’s mistake without any fuss. Cody, the electrical dispatcher, was efficient and responsive and got the right people out to us quickly. And lastly, Dana in the office was amazing. She coordinated everything seamlessly and made sure the necessary permit was pulled. She genuinely helped take a lot of stress off my shoulders, which I truly appreciated. Yes, Ostrom may be a bit pricier than some other companies, but you’re paying for peace of mind and the confidence that the job will be done right. And in our experience, that’s absolutely worth it.
