  I’ve been without reliable heat and treated with poor communication after purchasing a new complete heating and cooling system. Below I’ve summarized the situation. Initial problem: From install date - Intermittent ignition with oil furnace; air getting in oil line; repeated service calls through winter 2023–24 and into the 2024-25. Repairs attempted: Repeated attempts to bleed the oil feed system. Tiger loop filter and check valve installed which didn’t fix the issue; finally replaced oil pump March 2025. Billed for parts and labor for which I questioned. Warranty is 10 years on parts and 1 year on labor. Even though it was over 1 year for labor I felt it should be covered since it was an issue from the initial install. The oil pump was covered under warranty and Bud Weaver covered the Tiger Loop Filter, Check Valve, and fittings, I paid the labor charge. Temperature was warm enough that oil furnace wasn't needed until Nov. 2025. New/serious issue: November 23, 2025 — heavy soot, black smoke from flue, reduced heat output, fine black soot dust throughout home. Furnace turned off for safety. Reported to Bud Weaver Nov 24; with 3 follow-up calls through Dec 19 with no effective response. On December 19th I was told by the office manager that one of the technicians had broken his leg. I responded with I'm sorry about that, but I have been without heat for several weeks now and it was down to 10 degrees last night. Her tone changed and she became hateful. She told me the unit was out of warranty and I should just call someone else to service the furnace. Turned out to be great advice. I called my new HVAC company on December 26th and on Monday the 29th technician came out and repaired my furnace. What he found was an issue caused by Bud Weaver’s technicians back in March 2025. When replacing the oil pump and making adjustments to the burner, they didn’t set the air flow for the burner unit, it was set on 0, it calls for it to be set between1and 2 on the adjustment scale. After cleaning soot out of the furnace, checking the burner unit, and making the proper adjustments it is working properly.
