This philosophy has kept us growing since 1967. Our Residential Department specializes in home comfort systems. We service and install air conditioners, heat pumps, mini-splits, furnaces, boilers, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, and air cleaners. We service all makes and models of heat pumps, air conditioners, furnaces, boilers, and indoor air quality equipment.Our Commercial Department specializes in commercial comfort systems and building automation systems. Our team of technicians service and install air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, chillers, VAV systems, cooling towers, duct systems, ventilation systems, economizers, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, and air cleaners.Both our residential and commercial service departments offer a variety of preventive maintenance plans, from basic maintenance to full coverage including repair parts and labor. We also offer electrical and plumbing services, including wiring, upgrades, water heaters, backflow preventers, and medical gas piping.Our Energy Solutions Group is exploring all practical energy strategies that will make more and more sense for our clients as they seek clean, renewable, safe power that reduces our dependence on foreign oil. We provide home energy audit services and offer practical green solutions including solar, geothermal, and insulation services.

    Save your money, time and patience and do not purchase anything from James River Air. They will substitute inferior products while charging you for premium products regardless of what is listed as n your contract. Then not have the expertise to correctly install the product nor diagnose and fix the problem. They do not care about satisfying their customers. Spend your money elsewhere.

    Donald Corey is a tremendous asset and face of JR Air. He is knowledgeable, frank about what needs to be done, helpful, respectful and worked tonight until after 8:00PM fixing a system leak… expensive repair as wasn’t thrilled about that, but as far as service he’s top shelf. Don’t find service men with that kind of work ethic and customer satisfaction… explains and shows everything

    Had gas leak near the meter going into the crawlspace. VA Natural Gas came quickly, found leak, changed meter but needed contractor to fix gas pipe that went through wall. Called company I've used for 20 years and had to leave a message for next day. Called another well known company and they couldn't come for 2-3 days. Called James River Air and they had someone at my house within the hour, after 5 pm. Technician fixed problem in 1.5 hours, made sure furnaces and water heaters were relit and working. We needed heat that night and JRA got us back to normal quickly and professionally. I'm Impressed.

    We recently had a new HVAC system installed in our home, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. From start to finish, the team - Derek, Chase, and Aden - were kind, professional, and incredibly respectful of our home. They arrived on time for the installation and kept us informed every step of the way, which gave us so much peace of mind throughout the process. A very special thanks as well to Arlo, who truly went above and beyond. He walked us through the entire process, answered all of our questions patiently, and made sure we felt completely comfortable and confident with our purchase. We highly recommend this company to anyone looking for reliable, professional service!

    Do I get a free paint job after one of the technicians thinks he can just force their way into traffic because I’m in a small car and they are in a van they don’t own? I’m not sure why anyone would drive with no regard for others on the road when the company preaches its customer service. I’m sorry there was traffic, everyone is in traffic, if you aren’t patient you shouldn’t be working in someone’s home.
