Had one of their electricians come out because we lost power to our office and front porch. Didnt mind paying the service fee, but to further identify the root of the issue, was told it would cost an additional $400 ish dollars. The electrician identified the suspected cause but not the exact location, so was told us we’d need to reschedule for another day and he’d need to bring a more experienced electrician, which would cost $500 ish each. Bottom line, I paid $496 dollars and am no closer to having the issue corrected than I was before calling this company. How do you charge half a grand, and not fix anything? Also, if I did go forward with the second appointment, why would I pay $500 ish dollars to the first guy to come back out when he said himself he needed assistance? I’d just pay the person he works with that has the experience to find the location of the issue. Absolutely crazy to charge $496 dollars for 1 hour ish of time searching for an issue and not fix anything. ——————————————————————————— In response to the company’s review response, approximately 2 hours is essentially the same as 1 ish hours. Splitting hairs. Also, $500 for both (apologies, I clearly combined the pricing for 2x electricians) would be on top of the nearly $500 already paid, so we’d be looking at $1000 dollars minimum to identify the issue before considering additional cost to actually fix the root issue. $496 was paid and everything’s the same as before besides having an idea of what the issue is but not even knowing the exact location. That’s crazy. ——————————————————————————— UPDATE 30DEC25 After my reply to the company’s response to my initial review, I received a call from the company the day after Christmas wanting to discuss my experience. The call lasted 30 minutes. Mind you, this is 30 minutes during the day after Christmas where I’m giving feedback to a company that charged $496 dollars to not fix anything instead of spending time with my family (maybe I should’ve charged a half hour rate for my time as they charge per hour?). After mentioning that I had another electrician scheduled to come out and fix the issue through our home warranty, the company had the audacity to tell me that they’d call back on Monday (they didn’t call back) to see how the other electrician did for comparison sakes as if I owed them that information instead of calling and offering a portion of the $496 already paid out to go towards a future job if I was to utilize their services again. Speaking of the other electrician, he was able to identify the issue without using the line tracer tool (the reason the price jumped so much when they came out initially) by connecting an extension cord to the spare breaker and putting power to the outlet in the impacted area of the house to identify the issue. When I asked why he didn’t need to use a line tracer, he said “if you troubleshoot the old school way, it may take longer, but it works”. This guy came out, identified the issue in less time and with less sophisticated tools and will be back next week to run a line to the breaker to fix the issue. The electrician works for Governors Electric if anyone is interested in quality service without worrying about being taken advantaged of.

I had two generator appointments canceled. The last appointment I had to call to find out status and was told they would have to reschedule again and that they left me a voicemail- no call and no voicemail! This company’s ads talk a big game but evidently they cannot even keep an appointment. I had to take off work twice for them. I will never use them very unreliable!

Hutton came out to a "new to us" home for a consult and walkthrough of our residence. Joe was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and polite. He took his time to explain the reason we were experiencing issues, and included us in each element of our air handling system. I'd trust Joe and the Hutton team to tackle problems with transparency and honesty while including customers on the plan of attack and the "why" behind it all.

Five stars ++++. Great company. Matthew did maintenance on my home's older heating system; he was very knowledgeable of the existing HVAC . I expressed my goals for changing systems early spring, and Matthew took time going over my options, explaining each, so I now have confidence moving forward. I was told by a neighbor that the team at Hutton are collaborative, and highly professional. I am very glad I took my neighbor's advice!
