  Working with American Light Design was easily the best decision we made during our screened porch addition. We chose to go a little above and beyond and installed the Defender Series MagnaTrack screens with the 97% solar-blocking mesh. Our porch faces due west, so late afternoon sun and heat were a major concern as were high winds in the fall and winter and blocking the rain and snow when it comes. The expanded use of the space has been dramatic. The screens significantly reduce glare and heat while still allowing us to see out, and they also provide great privacy. Because of the tight woven mesh, the space holds temperature much better than a traditional screened porch. In colder months we can drop the screens, turn on our heaters, and comfortably use the space even when it’s 25–30°F outside. With these it has effectively become a three- or four-season room. During the summer, we also added a mini-split with the fans and can lower the screens and run the AC to keep the porch comfortable even on exceedingly hot and humid days. Another major benefit is the durability when you upgrade to the defender series. While many neighbors have to raise their drop-down screens during winter or windy conditions, we are able to keep ours down without issue and protect our furniture from wind and the elements. Even in sideways rain, at worst we get a little mist inside the screens. Beyond the product itself, the American Light Design team was outstanding. They were professional, detail-oriented, and clearly committed to doing the job correctly rather than just quickly. Communication was excellent and the installation quality shows. This was without question the best investment we made in our addition to increase the usability of our space, and I would highly recommend both the MagnaTrack system and American Light Design to anyone considering upgrading or building their outdoor living space.

  This company was so easy to work with, Colleen was very knowledgable about the product and kept in touch through text. She and Nick came to our house and showed us the product, measured and gave us a quote the same day. Our installers were Stuart,(Crew Leader ). Steven, and Will. The attributes we observed and they practiced were: Courtesy, workmanship, attention to detail, team oriented, punctuality, and professionalism. As customers, we are very satisfied and pleased with the project. The screens have given us a new room to enjoy ! Five Stars for American Light Design.

  Best decision Ive made for my covered patio! It made an immense difference shading the patio from extreme sun, winds, protecting patio furniture, and keeping unwanted bugs, critters away... my Pup enjoys the space so much! More now and so do I even now in the Fall and colder months. It does NOT give you 100% privacy at night when the light is on inside the house but during the day this lighter color does help with privacy a bit more and that's why I chose it. The crew was amazing, very helpful and went out of their way to ensure I was satisfied with every minute detail of the project!

  Just had these installed on my patio. They are everything Colleen promised us they would be. She is very knowledgeable about the product and can answer all your questions. Blocks wind and trash from blowing onto the patio, most importantly keeps all the flying insects out. Have a fire pit table out there and on Thanksgiving had five people eat dinner out there with it heating the space up nicely and kept it warm the whole time, the outside temp was 40 and windy. They also offer a great deal of privacy. Everyone we dealt with from start to finish were great.

  Used American Light Design for my motorized screen for outside balcony. The screen installed basically added another room. They guys came in and finished in a few hours. Nicolas is so responsive and pleasant to work with. I wouldn't use anyone else.
