- CCChris CookJul 19, 20171.0On behalf of my daughter and son-in-law, the experience was great during the sales pitch. Once the contract was signed the customer service went downhill fast. Phone calls were not returned. Days and often weeks passed with no one working at the job site. The project manager was disorganized and often had no idea when subcontractors would arrive. Excuses for delays were plentiful. When the house was set on the basement walls, the dimensions did not match. As a result there were gaps between the bottom of the vinyl siding and concrete walls of 2" in some areas. You could see the plywood on the exterior walls when looking from below and in many areas the plywood had separated from the sill plate. When our daughter and son-in-law contacted VCH about remedying this within the warranty period there was again a long delay before any action. The fix was done haphazardly and on only 1 of the 4 walls. The office staff told them they would have to pay to have the other 3 walls done. These are just a sampling of the issues. Basically, two young newlyweds were taken advantage of. Buyer beware!
