- DWDave WilliamsMar 29, 20212.0Disappointing I called the Newport News shop 3 times over 2 weeks to ask questions about renting a trailer. I confirmed the hitch type, brake type, and wiring plug. I bought a pintle hitch and a 4pin-to-6way plug adapter, as I was told the plug on the trailer was a 6way. When I got to the Hampton location to pick the trailer up, late on a Friday, the trailer had a 7way plug. The mechanic there was helpful and tried to help me out. The front desk guy was apathetic. What's frustrating is the research I did before showing up. I would have purchased the correct adaptor had I been told the correct spec. So, my weekend plans were shot. Lesson learned - have adaptors for 6 or 7 way plus and carry both ball and pintle hitches. The people (Theresa and Josh) in the Newport News store were friendly and helpful. I believe they were told wrong info.
