  Duy, accompanied by Linus, tested my HVAC system to determine why the system was reaching an unacceptable temperature before the safety feature shut it down. I am impressed by the depth of knowledge and the thorough inspection performed. First rate!

  I have had two unsatisfactory experiences with Michael & Son in the last year. Both were to address emergency loss of water. The first time was due to a damaged connection where our waterline leaves the well housing, the second was my submersible pump dying. Both times the technician was dishonest and tried to upsell in ways that were completely unnecessary. This most recent time, the tech, assuming I was completely ignorant to how a well system works, tried to tell me I needed a new pressure tank because the "psi was almost at 0." At this point my pump had been off for over 24 hours and the pipes/tank were drained because the pump failed mid-use. All this to say, it made perfect sense that the tank pressure was dropped. I pointed this out and he pushed the issue, saying there could be a perferation in the air bladder and if we repressive the tank it will get bigger and fail. I asserted that if that happens, I'll deal with it myself. He was dismissive and still wrote a quote including the pressure tank replacement. On top of all this, their prices are significantly higher than industry standards. Needless to say, I didn't go with this company either time and will never call them for estimates in the future.

  I called Michael & Son to schedule a winter HVAC tuneup before the weather turns cold. My technician, Ian Bundick, arrived a few minutes ahead of schedule and got started without delay. He answered my questions about how to keep the units running properly to increase their service life. Ian worked efficiently and had a great attitude about his job at Michael & Son. I will definitely use Michael & Son again, and want to give a shout-out to Ian for his skill and professionalism.

  Today’s visit was for heat inspection. Sean made suggestions for better ventilation and operation of the heating system. Quick service, explained all recommendations and was professional and thorough. There was no charge for the service as it is part of my membership.

  James Moorman came by to give me an estimate on installing a water filtration system using my own equipment. He was very thorough in this explanation of the process, and the pros and cons of using my equipment vs. theirs. I've received other estimates and talked to other plumbers from other companies; James stands out as the most experienced person that I have talked to. I will be moving forward with James and his company for the install soon.
