  I am a Northfax DRB homeowner. Overall, DRB is a decent builder, and I am glad I purchased my home, but there is room for build quality and warranty improvement. The front porch canopy was unmounted, scratched, and incorrectly remounted by DRB trades while repairing a short-circuit front porch light. After several months and many emails, DRB ultimately fixed the canopy structural and alignment issue. However, the end result did not meet the original build quality. DRB trades used enamel-based spray paint over the existing powder-coated finish, which created an uneven, cheap-looking appearance and reduces curb appeal. Enamel is also less durable than powder coat, so it will likely fade and chip over time, wearing much faster than the factory powder coating. (Think getting your car repainted and they use spray paint!) I raised this issue and was told it was “a professional job, sorry you don’t like it,” even though it was admittedly not to original quality and durability, per their warranty. And was told by DRB in person “What if someone offered you a lot of money for your home in 3 years? Will the durability [of the canopy] really matter then?” -- EDIT: I followed the instructions and submitted additional details per DRB's response to this review; Their sales rep called me, but was completely unaware and provided no assistance as it pertained to this warranty issue.

  I had the pleasure of working with Talia while helping out my family-friend through his home search, and she was so wonderful to work with! We had looked at the Pulte homes close by and while there were a few other reasons that made him choose DRB over Pulte, it was Talia's expertise and friendliness that gave us both that warm & fuzzy feeling from the start. She was always professional but very down-to-earth and never pushy. And now he's closed on his home here! Talia was super responsive to all of his questions even though he took awhile to decide. And she still actively answers questions he has and provides her time to current home owners, not just new potential buyers, which shows the genuine care she and the DRB folks have for people. If I'm ever in the market for a new home, I would honestly seek out what community she is a part of to have this same experience.
