  IF YOU WANT TO PAY HIGH PRICES TO MANAGE AND SUPERVISE THEIR WORK, Russell’s American Mechanical is the company for you. Their website says “Expert Technicians and Quality Workmanship” Well, I will let you decide! July 2025 HVAC drain line flooded my home (Technicians performed prior yearly inspections on paper only and HVAC unit was improperly wired - 100% preventible). Dec 2025 Water Heater replaced and Permit was not pulled until 20 April 2026 I noticed City Inspection was never performed) and I went into their office. LAST, their electrical department seems to be the only group to have it together, no issues with their electricians so far. A few years ago they tried to charge $1,800.00 to my 82 year old neighbor for repairs not needed for his gas furnace.

  We just had a new HVAC system installed and completely replaced all of our ducting. This is the first time we ever had this kind of work done on our home, and I was quite nervous about the process and cost. Every single person we encountered made us feel comfortable and secure in the decision we made to work with Russell's. Our heating and cooling needs were understood, and we received exactly what we were looking for. Dillon and Matt were our techs, and they began to feel like family by the end of the process. They went above and beyond to respect our home, placing drop cloths wherever they would be and even sweeping up any errant effluvia. They were very communicative over every step in the process. They truly cared about their work, and you can see they love what they do. There is no greater feeling than knowing this investment was truly a labor of love for this company. Thank you guys, you really are the best!

  What can I say? These guys are the best of the best. I am a new homeowner and have had to reach out to Russell's twice in the last eight months for two different issues. Both times they respond quickly, keep me in the loop and are always pleasant. Today I had the pleasure of working with a plumber named Phillip who helped me with my lack of heat and hot water. In under 45 minutes he was all done and got me right. I lost sleep last night thinking "oh man, how much am I going to have to pay to get whatever this is fixed?" and let me just say what he charged me is about what I pay to respirate. Twice now these guys have fixed my bonehead issues and the first guy I had to beg to let me pay him. They simply do NOT try and rip people off. In a world where that is more and more common, I respect that. Having a pro come help with an issue is scary for sure, but if you call Russell's you're not going to get played. 10/10

  Had an entire HVAC system installed. Had a few problems but, the company handled them. I'm now at the last year of a 10 year warranty and had the company out for the annual maintenance check. All of a sudden the AC unit is out of R410a refrigerant. They provided an estimate of 2000 -3000 dollars for repair citing a leaking Schrader valve as the cause of lost refrigerant. Just to clarify they cited that same Schrader valve as loose back in 2023 causing a leak. That was supposedly repaired and lost refrigerant replaced. I'm no HVAC Schrader valve expert but making a repair should mean the item is repaired and charging the customer to once again fix the same item shows me the company does not stand behind their work. Additionally, AC units should not leak. Received a canned response stating they would like to address the problems but, after talking to their people they refused to accept the fact that their second repair of the valve was as bad as the first repair resulting in the lost refrigerant. These valves are the ones used to check the system charge during the annual system maintenance. There people are the only ones that ever touched them. Unfortunately, they refused to stand behind their work and still wanted 2000 dollars for 10 lbs of refrigerant. Thats 200 dollars a pound for something that costs 200 dollars for 25 pounds. One hell of a markup. Would not recommend the company.

  The technicians were personable, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They were truly competent. The team of Ryan, Mike C., and Chris C. were efficient, and quickly corrected an error in the work order. We requested an A/C unit, their work order showed a heat pump. I wanted an A/C unit only. The team ran into several installation problems which they address and surmounted quickly. They also remained in good spirits through the entire installation. While the installation team was great I had other problems. I was visited by Chris Waller representing Russell's American Mechanical on 4 April 2026 to discuss repairing an existing Lennox split unit Air Conditioner. He checked out the unit and found a coolant leak in the condenser coil. The unit was 8 years old and the repair would cost $6000. He told us that the unit was poorly manufactured and that Lennox had been experiencing parts failures at 8 years or old. We decided to replace the unit with a more reliable unit distributed by Goodman. We Wanted an A/C unit he wrote up an order for a heat pump. The installers arrived with a heat pump which cannot be installed because the house in not wired to handle the electrical load. The installers obtained the correct unit and did not install the heating coil of the air handler. They told me that the heating coil costs $540 and the bill would be reduced by that amount. Also, the Condenser was a straight air conditioner without the heat pump equipment. A cheaper model. Researching, I discovered that the installers installed a Goodman GLXS5BA3610A as shown in the estimate dated 14 April 2026, but the bill that they are enforcing dated 6 April 2026 shows a GLZS5BA3610A which is a heat pump unit. The GLXS5BA is less expensive. The air handler installed shows it is a AMVT36BP1300 which should include an emergency heater coil, which was not installed. making the unit installed a AMST36CU1300A also less expensive. Several Days of telephone conversations with Mandi, the representative at Russell's American Mechanical, did not resolve the issue. She told me that Air Conditions were more expensive than heat pumps. I have check with several installers and discovered this is not true. Also, researching the cost of the units online reflected the statements of the other installers. I received an estimate on 14 April 2026 which correctly reflects what was installed. Not only was the estimate on April 6 too high compared to what was installed, I was charge an additional $1159.88.
