In this case, I was unable to locate JR Drywall under the Virginia DPOR License Lookup, and there was no license number provided anywhere on their website. Wanting to be thorough, I called directly to ask for a license number, but the person I spoke with was not able to provide one. To be clear, I’m not making any legal accusations—only sharing my experience as a consumer who tries to follow Virginia’s recommended steps for verifying contractor qualifications. In a field where proper licensing protects both the homeowner and the contractor, the lack of clear documentation is concerning. I strongly recommend that anyone considering JR Drywall—or any contractor—take a moment to check the DPOR License Lookup site and ensure that all required credentials are valid and up to date. Doing so provides peace of mind and helps ensure that the work is performed by professionals who meet the state’s standards.

We had drywall put up, popcorn ceiling scraped, plaster with swirls on walls & ceiling (lovely ! ) in family room, and repair plaster and install recessed lighting in kitchen. They also painted and installed baseboards. The crew was friendly and hard workers. We signed the contract, they started 2 weeks later and completed all the work in 7 working days! We could not be happier with the work and highly recommend them!

They told me they would come out the next morning. I was so relieved they could get there that quickly. John and Steff showed up when they said they would, fixed my repair in two hours and did an absolutely perfect job on my ceiling. They were so nice and friendly. I asked them what the & Designs by Steff was for, and if they did kitchen remodels, and they said, oh yes, went into my kitchen, and must have known exactly what I wanted because they started making suggestions about what I could do and how it would look. I hired them that day. I truly needed their design help because I have been trying to get my kitchen remodeled for about seven years and just couldn’t decide what I wanted. They did everything for the remodel from start to finish. I loved how professional and creative they were, how they cleaned up when done and how they kept me informed on all phases of the remodel. They made something I’ve been dreading for years, fun and exciting. They’re fantastic to work with and I would recommend them for just about any project you have in your house. I will be calling them again for other projects. Thank you for my beautiful new kitchen!
