Ideal Cabinets began back in 1970 in Christiansburg, VA, because Ken Rakes wanted to take care of his family. He decided that he could do that by selling a quality cabinet product to other people for their families; and that is how a family business with the purpose of making other families happy was born. For over 55 years, we have been one of the best known and most well-respected kitchen design firms in Virginia. In those 55 years, we’ve built and renovated more kitchens and baths than we can count. We’ve worked on countless custom bookshelves, pantries, and closets too. Today, we have three showrooms: Christiansburg, Charlottesville, and Roanoke.
