Everyone I worked with (Brian Donovan, Ryan Waters, Ian Carter) at Beck Cohen was courteous and clear with what was happening and when. Everyone was patient with my multiple questions and very willing to make sure my questions were answered To my satisfaction. I highly recommend Beck Cohen!

Seth and Gage at Beck Cohen did a great job installing the new Lennox HVAC system. They arrived early (which was not a problem for me) and was done slightly early! They were very respectful and courteous. I appreciated their work. From what I can tell, the work looked very good, clean, etc... I would definitely recommend them.

The service that they give is really good. They’re very thorough, they follow up, they do the best that they can. But what I don’t like is how much they like to price gouge. We pay a maintenance fee for them to come out and then on top of that, they want to charge us twice. What an air filter should cost. We didn’t have any of this trip, because they had been supplying them in the past and no additional charge, but now all of a sudden they want us to provide it or they’re gonna charge us. I looked up the cost of a filter when my wife called me and it was close to twice what it should cost. I would understand markup on some margin, but that’s a ridiculous amount of markup. Considering that they also buy these things in bulk and I know they get them at a wholesale rate rather than retail. So I don’t really feel like it’s the right way to treat an ongoing client. We spent a lot of money for them to install the system and we spent a good amount of money to have them maintained.

My HVAC System on the main floor of my home was not working and it was cold. It happened on a Saturday. I called Beck Cohen. I am a preferred customer (member) and the company both installed the HVAC system four years ago and they conduct the annual maintenance on the system. I was told that I would need to pay $255 to have a technician service the system. If I waited until Monday, the charges would be covered by warranty. As I and my husband are senior citizens and are adversely affected by cold, we chose to have someone to come out on Saturday. I am not a wealthy person but we felt that being comfortable in our home where we spend most of our time would be worth the charges. The technician came and spent a couple of hours trying to fix the problem. The final verdict was that the thermostat would need to be replaced and he did not have a compatible one in his vehicle nor did he know if they had one at the shop. The technician told us the thermostat may need to be ordered which meant additional days without heat. Then I was charged $255 and left in a cold house. I agreed to the charges as I thought the system would be fixed. I think the charges are unreasonable and feel rather disappointed in the service.

Had a problem with the thermostat not connecting to smartweb.
Turns out it was a problem with the condensate pump.
Last fall during routine service I informed the tech that there I noticed water pooled under the condensate pump. It was cool when serviced so the AC wasn't really in use at that time.
Forward to today to learn the condensate pump wasn't working properly.
The thermostat problem occurred after switching to cooling for the first time since last fall (85+degree day). So the problem I mentioned last fall likely wasn't addressed leading to the problem today.
The tech thought he had the part so I approved replacement. I also asked whether the discharge line was okay.
He said he cleaned it. Turns out the unit he had was a 230v, which was fine I understand they don't have everything, etc.
As it wasn't going to be fixed today I indicated I would look at replacing myself.
Recall that I had asked if the discharge line was okay.
The tech said he would replace it if I wanted, but it would cost more.
My concern is that upon checking the discharge line it was twisted and kinked. The portion sticking outside was actually brittle and broken off. IMO the line wasn't okay.
Note that the HVAC system was installed by BC 2 years ago. Why they didn't replace the line then is a mystery to me, it was >20 years old. And the pump system wasn't working right last fall if water was collecting under it.
In addition the location of the condensate pump is at the limit of the 6 foot cord. It is stretched to a 45 degree angle. This could have been improved when the system was installed. All they had to do was move it 4 inches and use a shorter PVC pipe, etc.
Its not about the money. Its about the service quality I expect.
