We completely regret having bought a ONE MILLION dollar house from Stanley Martin homes in Leesburg, VA. The poor craftsmanship of this home is worse than any other home we have purchased before. We bought this house with the purpose of not having to do renovations and construction. This was not the case and it has been a nightmare that never ends. Since we moved to our home the first week of July 2023, we have addressed all the issues we have with the house via email, phone calls, and in person to Samantha (Sales Associate) and the various warranty team members Eric, Zach, Rich, Dave, and Ali. We have submitted multiple emails since we moved into our house including pictures as proof of the issues we discovered after we closed escrow on June 28, 2023 and our issues have not been resolved and instead the list continues to grow. They addressed a couple of issues, but there remains much work to be completed. The couple of times that the trades arrive to perform repairs/warranty work, they are not supervised by anyone. We have sent emails to all the parties involved, have called them directly, and they never answer the phone, do not return our phone calls, or reply to our emails. It has been 4 months since we purchased the house and there is still a long list of unresolved issues that need to be addressed and that we shared with Samantha, Eric, Zach, Rich, Dave, and Ali and neither one of them has bother to completely fix them. There is a further list of issues that we found, that by the warranty team's own admission, will never be able to be fixed because of the poor construction standard such as the framing of the guest suite kitchenette and the stair case in our Jocelyn home. The refrigerator in the guest suite had to be forced into the opening due to being framed out too small to accommodate it. This caused damage to the shoe molding on the base boards and also marred and dented the side of the refrigerator. A new refrigerator was promised to us due to the damage caused by Stanley Martin. We have not seen this happen yet. We are still waiting for the correct garage door to be installed on our home and have asked multiple times and have not received a favorable response. However, we continue seeing new houses being built and garage doors being installed, but ours has not made it home yet. We also discovered several openings on the front of the house that we are afraid water will leak inside the walls causing water damage or pest intrusion. Recently, we have discovered some questionable framing in the basement that has prompted us to contact the county building inspectors because we have been completely ignored by the Stanley Martin warranty team and the sales associate. This framing issue requires to be inspected ASAP and be resolved before an EMERGENCY happens to any of us living in the house. The Stanley Martin warranty team are not showing the appropriate concern or respect we deserve as new home owners. On Friday, November 3, 2023 my husband received an email submitted by Rich stating that he was going to close out the initial 60 day warranty period list of repairs that needed to be done that we compiled upon closing and during our first months in the home. My husband submitted two emails to the warranty team and sales associate regarding prematurely closing out our list of warranty repairs stating that we DO NOT agree because the issues have not been resolved. He has been completely ignored. He has also made multiple phone calls to Rich and the rest of the team members and none of them answer the calls, nor respond to the emails. It feels as we have been written off by Stanley Martin's warranty team even though our house is still under warranty. We should not have to go through something like this in a one million dollar brand new home. All we want, is for all the repairs and items that require to be replaced to be completed according to the purchase warranty agreement made by Stanley Martin.
We deserve respect and peace in our own home!
