Excellent experience from start to finish. The quote was very reasonable and there was no attempt to upcharge, in fact, I was told what I was asking for would not be the best option for the money and was put in to a system that will more than work for our family. Camden and Tyler performed the install and were very kind , professional and quick! They even took time to dry fit the new unit with our washing machine in place to ensure everything looked good and fit correctly. I will for sure be a return customer should the need arise and will tell everyone how great our experience has been.

If you have any plumbing needs call these guys! We had to replace our main water line and reached out to several different companies for price quotes. Gilman came out the very next day and gave us a quote that was half the price as other quotes for the exact same job. They got us scheduled asap and got the job done. The customer service was exceptional and they made everything so easy.

Gilman heating and Plumbing is a company that employees great group of men and women That are qualified , Great customer service relined, and schedules to meet your needs. I appreciate both Chris Ewell and Christopher Lyons, who is out here today to service the issue and installed such issues that were founded last week . I have previously used Gilman and will continue to use them especially if these guys are still with them Dedication good communication!

Honestly I had to think about this for a few days before I posted anything. The person that came out was very nice and respectful. I had a slow drain on a sink that I had not had when I first moved in the home. I had tried DIY remedies but nothing worked. After inspecting everything he told me the drain was fine and what did he want me to do and I said well the problem still persists I'm not a plumber I was hoping you could tell me that. He kept doing the same things with the same results. I finally said maybe call your supervisor and see if he or someone else has encountered this. He FaceTimed with the supervisor the supervisor was stumped as well said the only thing to be done was to try to put a snake in it but he didn't think that would do anything and felt it was just a matter of some kind of air situation but didn't give me any kind of resolution for that and I told him that it used to not happen so why would it start happening if it was an air situation and I haven't done anything different and I received no answer or resolution. I said well I guess put a snake in since that was really the only suggestion that was given. After snaking it the problem persisted. At this point I felt I was just doomed with this slow drain forever with no answers. Finally he said I could lower the water pressure with the knobs at the bottom and that should help it not back up since nothing was wrong with the drain. That was the resolution and I still had to pay $411.09. And I already had a different experience with them that they had been inspecting annually my AC unit and then it started not working properly and I was just told that it was towards the end of its life and I went to get a second opinion and the second opinion agreed but also said that there was a huge gap it should have been sealed between the air handler and the floor of the attic and all this hot air was going in there this whole time and it was making my AC work harder and have mold. At this point I had been using Gilman to inspect my units several times and no one ever brought this up and they were supposedly inspecting all of that so this situation just added to the frustration of that previous situation to be honest. I have used them for other things in the past and have excellent results but the last two experiences have not been good and then I still got charged the full amount this last time even though no resolution was given except to lower the water pressure which could have been given to me before I felt like the only option was to put a snake in.

Awful Experience
I had Gilman Heating & Plumbing come out because the AC wasn’t working in one of our bedrooms. The technician determined there was a refrigerant leak in the system.
What concerned me was what came next. I was told the refrigerant my system requires is no longer manufactured and that “no one in Richmond has it.” The options presented were either attempting a repair that could cost $5,000+ or replacing the entire unit for $10,000+.
I also felt like the technician was talking down to me during the visit, which made the interaction uncomfortable.
Because the situation didn’t feel right, I decided to get a second opinion. Another HVAC company came out the next day and had the exact refrigerant needed. They recharged the system and got the AC running again.
They were honest that it’s essentially a temporary or “band-aid” solution and that I’ll likely need to replace the system eventually, but it will get us through the summer and gives us time to plan for that expense.
In hindsight, the $300 I spent with Gilman ended up being money well spent because it taught me not to work with them again. I won’t be using them in the future and wouldn’t recommend them to others. There are too many honest HVAC professionals out there to deal with an experience like this.
I’m very glad I decided to get a second opinion before agreeing to a $10,000+ replacement.
