  Our appointment with Mr Dias everything that we were hoping for and more. He was very easy to talk to about everything we were dealing with. As he went through the process, he was very good at explaining the "why's" and "How's" Even did a awesome job at sharing his finding with us with the devices he used to detect water damaged what it all meant. Mr Dias demonstrated the highest level of professionalism throughout but was very personable at the same time. He demonstrated a clear enthusiasm about what he did. At the end he took time to explain the next steps in the process in what we should expect. This is included making sure we had the names of the people that we would be working as the process progressed, explaining how this would coincide with our insurarance. My husband and I, me especially, felt a lot better about working past all chaos caused by the water leak and damage. Mr Dias deserves all the credit for a job very well done.

  AVOID Michael & Sons (M&S) After more than 20 years as a loyal customer, this has been one of the most mentally and financially stressful experiences. M&S performed defective work, failed county inspection, and did nothing to rectify their faulty, malfunctioning work. In July 2025, a leak in my basement ceiling led their restoration team to open the drywall and discover a drain pipe installed with the slope inverted—meaning water literally had to flow upward to drain. Their own technicians confirmed it was installed incorrectly. When I reviewed my records, I found that Michael & Son installed this plumbing during my prior basement remodel. I also located the Fairfax County inspection report rejecting the work at the time and requiring the drain lines be reworked due to improper slope. (but clearly M&S didn’t). Because this defect was never corrected, our basement suffered water damage and mold contamination. Despite providing the contract, inspection report, and documentation, the company has refused to take responsibility. After months of unanswered emails, shifting explanations, and no resolution, I’ve had to take legal action; a huge expense on top of what I’ve already paid M&S. Extremely disappointing from a company that markets itself as family oriented and quality workmanship.

  Jawad, Mohammed from Michael and Sons was our night in shining armor. He came to our rescue at our rental property and replaced a shower faucet & plumbing that was leaking into our wall. To our surprise-All this was done in a few hours on a Saturday. He provided us with a quote via text and a finished product with a high-quality Moen faucet. He kept us updated throughout the project with real time photos— then FaceTimed us at the end, which was so appreciated. It was a pleasure working with Michael and Son and Jawad. We really feel they treated us like family.

  Cesar was great! He came to fix something in my home that someone else (different company) had previously done wrong. He explained everything he was doing, and when he ended up having to do extra work on top of what was quoted he explained exactly why in a way that made total sense to me. He made it work with the gas line so that m y oven could be still be pushed back far enough and in fact further than it had been previously. Plus my pup liked him! Prices were about average for quotes got, and they know their stuff. I would trust Cesar and Michael and Son with work in my home again. Cindy and David came later today and gave me a quoted on switching my breaker box around, they were both very nice and knowledgable!

  I hate to write this but I truly believe this company is scamming people. The invoice they billed insurance for was $4,973.86, just under our $5,000 covered amount and after catching all their mistakes it came down almost $2,000 ending with $3,183.90. We valued their service and technicians and paid out of pocket for services not covered by our homeowners insurance (sub-pump replacement not pictured totaling almost $4,000). We went back and forth for a few days correcting items line by line. They basically tried to max out the insurance payout and invoiced us for services they did not do and for equipment that extended way beyond the period we had them for. I have detailed screenshots of them revising, only AFTER they invoiced insurance, and AFTER we combed through it ourselves and they STILL were denying us some revisions where they charged us for more square footage in our basement than they themselves measured with a laser. The technicians were great, but the people in billing did not do their job well. I can see why insurance agents are such hard hitters. Companies like these try to milk them for every penny and it’s deplorable taking advantage of people who need services fixed due to inclement weather. If it weren’t for us being hands on and me checking in with the technicians and project managing the mitigation, we would have been out an extra $2,000 which is no small feat since we have a little one due mid March. Take this as a warning and lesson learned be there to manage the project and go through the invoice with a fine tooth comb.
