- KPKell PadgettOct 20, 20251.0I am writing to express my significant disappointment regarding my recent experience at your West Jordan branch on 10.20.2025. I had called beforehand to reserve a 2" hex fit skid steer auger extension bit and was assured over the phone that it was available. Upon my arrival, I re-verified with your staff that the reserved bit was indeed a 2" hex fit. However, when it came time to load the equipment, the auger bit provided was for a round fit only, not the hex fit I had specifically requested and confirmed. Your employee then checked and confirmed that the correct part was not available at your location. This was entirely unacceptable, especially considering I had taken the proactive step of calling ahead and verifying availability to avoid any issues. I feel that I was misled, and this entire experience resulted in a considerable waste of my time. I was ultimately able to obtain the correct auger extension from Sunstate, and as a result of this experience, I will be taking my business to them moving forward.
- THThomas HarrisJun 3, 20251.0Not really impressed with a 15% credit card transaction fee. As a business owner who takes cards: card fees are anywhere between 2.5-3.5%. Meaning a 15% fee is a 11% price margin profit on a fee. Which is just flat out disgusting business practice. A built in 2-3% into your prices, and or a 3% flat credit card processing fee is ok but 15% yeah that is shady business.

We get the rental equipment an hour away, fully loaded up, and then we go to use it and it doesn't work. They assured me that they properly charged it. it doesn't work. Deadlines missed. Home inspection failed. They gave me defective equipment and THEN tried to charge me for the tech to come out and fix it. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? What an absolute joke this place is. No wonder I've never heard of it. I called to talk to whom I assume was the manager, Preston, and he hung up because I said a curse word. The whole thing was an absolute joke. I don't have anything bad to say about Scotty though. I think he was just trying to do his job.
- JSJared StartupNov 3, 20235.05 Star service for sure, needed a scissor lift for a School Veterans' Day salute at our school for all that served our country in one way or another. They donated the lift to us to be part of this event. This donation allowed us to hand a very large flag from the rafters, and hang up 1000's of pictures of veteran's the school kids have brought in over the years to salute our serve members. Sunstate, Top Class for sure was proud they supported this event.

What do I need to rent a tool?
All you need is your driver’s license or a government-issued photo ID and a credit or debit card to pay for the rental upfront. No extra deposit is required.

Is a deposit required for a reservation?
For customers without a line of credit, Sunbelt Rentals does not require a deposit to rent tools and equipment. However, you will be asked for payment information when you make your reservation. Your credit or debit card will not be charged for the rental period (one ((1)) day minimum) until you pick up the equipment.
For Credit Customers, we will secure a deposit for your reservation. This deposit will be held within your account until the rental equipment is returned and the contract closed. Apply for a credit account here.
If your project is quick and you only need the equipment for a few hours, Sunbelt Rentals does offer a Rapid Return rate. Return the equipment within four (4) hours of the pickup time and we will refund the difference of the Rapid Return rate. Rates will vary based on product. What if I need to keep my equipment longer?
If you need assistance, please contact the branch of the equipment rental and they can extend the rental for you. When you keep the equipment longer, we will add the additional time and charges to your contract and credit card. Please refer to the rental contract, where the day, week and 4-week rates are shown for each piece of tool and equipment.
Can I return rented equipment at any location?
Typically, equipment should be returned to the same location where you initially rented it. If you need to return it to a different location, please contact the store where you rented the equipment for guidance. It’s advisable to call ahead so we can assist you in finding a convenient alternative location for your return. Your convenience is our priority.
What is the cost for the delivery of equipment to my location?
The delivery charge is calculated based on the category and class of equipment, the location of the rental location, the distance of the project site from the rental location.
Can I get tools and equipment delivered to me?
Yes, Sunbelt Rentals offers convenient delivery options from our extensive network of locations for a reasonable fee. When making a reservation, simply select the delivery option. During the reservation process, you can specify the delivery drop-off date and time, as well as your estimated equipment pickup date. The estimate is for our planning purposes and not a final date.
To initiate our equipment pickup service, you must confirm the end of your rental via the app or by phone. Additionally, if you have specific delivery instructions or prefer a designated contact person for coordination, please include those details when submitting your reservation.
For businesses utilizing a commercial credit account, associated delivery and pickup fees will be reflected in your invoice.
To receive notifications about your delivery, adjust your settings in your account to receive reminders and updates related to your delivery and pickup.
What happens if a tool breaks or quits working while I am renting it?
Sunbelt Rentals inspects and services each piece of equipment prior to each rental and should be in good working order. If you experience problems with the tool while renting it, please go to the specific Equipment Detail page within the reservation to request service. If you need additional assistance, please contact the branch of the equipment rental and they can arrange for next steps or a replacement. If you want to have protection in the event of damage, Sunbelt Rentals offers a Rental Protection Plan (RPP), which can be purchased at the start of your rental.
